Day trip ideas?

My girlfriends and I want to take a day trip this weekend that does NOT involve laying on the beach all day.

So far the only thing we have come with is going to Foxwoods for the day and going to dinner that night.

Any other ideas?  That arent crazy $$$

    If you're heading towards CT check out the local wineries. There are 2 in Stonington, on your way to Foxwoods, that are really nice: Stonington Vineyard and Jonathan Edwards Winery.

    Newport, RI. Portsmouth, NH. Newburyport. Newport could def. fill your day. See a few mansions, have lunch. Take a ride on Ocean Drive. Do some shopping!ahhh...that sounds much better than fiance's family cook out I have to go to;)

    wentworth by the sea in New Castle has a spa.  you could go there and then have dinner at their restaurant which is fabulous.

    I would do Portsmouth, NH so much fun! You can go to the Kittery outlets while you're up there.
