New England (Boston) Aquarium Tent

Hi! 

We are getting married at Trinity Church in The Back Bay and then having our reception at the Aquarium in the tent out back on the water.  Has anyone else on here had or been to a wedding here since they got the new tent last summer?  If so, was the tent decorated with lanterns, lighting, etc?  It just seems a bit bare so I would love to dress it up a little.   We are planning on about 200 guests so I hope we can all fit:)  If you have any thoughts, I would really appreciate it!

   we're also having our reception there. I did wedding crash one night to check out the lighting myself and those lights do dim but I think we're going to do paper lanterns ourselves.

Hi!  Great to hear from you!  How exciting!!  When is your wedding?  I love the paper lanterns too.  I think we are going to try to do them also.  I heard that the wind can be a problem blowing them around, but I really love them:)  I am glad the lights do dim though... When it's too bright it looks a little harsh in there - I did some wedding crashing too:)  Have you seen any weddings in there with the lanterns?  How many people are you planning to have?  CONGRATS!!!

I havent seen the lanterns there myself, but Deb (who is GREAT to work with... ) said it shouldnt be an issue. We're on the 165-180 side.

I was at a wedding there this summer and they did paper lanterns.  It looked gorgeous.  The only problem was that the bride had to get super long lasting battery operated candles to put in them because they had to be lit early in the day before the tables were all set.  The ceiling of the tent is so high that you need a ladder to get to them.

I've been considering having my wedding there as well.  Did you look at doing it inside around the penguin exhibit and main tank as well or just in the tent?

We are also having our wedding there! Just booked about a month ago. We decided to go with uplighting instead of the lanterns which will help tone down the very plain white of the tent!
