Wedding Day Makeup

Hi!

I'm going to have 3 bridesmaids, my mothers and my makeup done at my house on my wedding day.  Our ceremony is @ 5:30 pm and the makeup artist said it would be best if we were done by 3.  She said she would have to be at my house at 10 am - is it me or is that kind of early?  I'm just concerned that if she starts at that time the makeup won't look fresh for a 5:30 wedding.

That does seem early. Are you doing pictures before the wedding? Is someone going to be working on hair at the same time? She probably want to make sure she leaves enough time to spend the most on you, if she's the only MUA and doesn't have an assistant. We'll have 2 people doing me, 4 BMs and 2 mothers and it should only take 3 hours.

Nope, thats right on target. Our ceremony started at 2, had to be ready by 1, 5 hair services and 1 makeup, and our stylist got there around 7:30.

You can ask for a little tube of your lip color and some powder if you like; they should be able to leave you with something to freshen up. In my experience, my wedding makeup was on for GOOD. It survived a whole day and night of tears, hugs, kisses, and more tears. It was solid from start to finish.

That seems about right.  Our ceremony is at 4pm, we have 5 people, and we're expecting to start around 10am.  I think you want to estimate about an hour per person.  Don't forget, they will do you last (so you look the freshest), and will want to add a little buffer for any catastrophes.  You could cut it down a little if the hair is simpler (like, if girls are getting blow outs instead of updos/curls/braids, etc).
