Venue suggestions, in/around Rockport?

My fiancée and I are looking for a venue for our summer 2011 wedding. His family has ties to Rockport, right on the ocean, and I'd love to check out reception sites somewhere around there but I'm not that familiar with the area!

Any suggestions? The guest list has around 170 people, and we're hoping to stay somewhere in the middle of the wedding-budget spectrum. I am open to all kinds of places, including tents.

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
Elizabeth

I've heard wonderful things about Cruiseport and the Elks at Bass Rocks... both in Gloucester btw.

We are getting married at Castle Hill in Ipswich, and things have gone well so far, its a little pricey for the rental, but you dont need to rent a tent (200 cap inside) and it includes tables and chairs.

Here are three Rockport wedding locations that come to mind for me:

    The Emerson Inn: http://www.emersoninnbythesea.com/about.htm

    The Rockport Art Association: http://www.rockportartassn.org/

    The Rockport Golf Club: http://www.rockportgolfclub.net/

There are plenty of hotels in Rockport though- I'm sure you can google some to see more that can host weddings!

We looked at Elks at Bass Rock and Cruiseport.  We liked Cruiseport much better than the Elks, but ended up going with Essex Conference Center and Retreat in Essex (which is not far from Rockport, but isn't on the water).  It is beautiful though - outside and tented.  If you really want to be on the water, Cruiseport was nice and indoors, and Misselwood in Beverly was beautiful.  It's tented, but it was out of our pricerange.

I"m getting married at Cruiseport in Gloucester this October - it's so beautiful!  It's pricey to rent the location, but it includes all taxes/gratituities/tablens/linens, etc... so when we priced out a bunch of places (7!!!) it all evened out!

I'm happy to share any information I have on the venue, PM me f you want!
