song to be sung by a friend right before we walk down the non-aisle

any suggestions?  I am thinking of something old that isn't overused, but am open to suggestion.  We will be outside an old italian restaurant.

Hmmmm....Ave Maria is the classic, I think...but overused.

What style of singer is she?  Could she sing something operatic?  Are you looking for something like maybe from the 1940s/Big Band style of song?  Maybe from an old musical?  Fast tempo or slow tempo?

I like All I do is Dream of You from Singin' in the Rain.  It can be fast or slow, and is very sweet, and not too long, and while familiar, I don't think it's crazy over done.
Yay! Finally able to update my signature :)

It depends on what you like - we love jazz.  So we had my oldest friend sing Some Kind of Wonderful by Peter Cincotti as we walked down the aisle -- just go with what you like and your personality!

I am thinking traditional --- but not religious.  Frank Sinatra came to mind, but it could be almost anything.  "All I do is Dream of You" is a good option.  Anything 40's always sounds great to me.

She has a wide vocal range.

My friend sang At Last when I walked down the aisle. Also, What a Wonderful World is a good one too

All I ask of you (from Phantom) and One Heart (From West Side Story)... I actually sang these at a friends wedding before the ceremony.

I really appreciate all of these.  I LOVE Etta James, and "WOnderful World" is one of my favorites.

If you guys think of more, please share!  I am buying bunches of them off Itunes and will share them with fi later!

I'm a big fan of "A Love That Will Last" by Renee Olstead (also on the Princess Bride 2 soundtrack, don't ask why I know that...!) :) I am considering having someone sing that for our first dance!

I'm pretty partial to "The Way You Look Tonight"

    Oldie, but goodie.
