For those of you who did them?
How far in advance did you take them and how long did they take to come in?
How did you find out about the group shooting?

I know I've seen people post about some photographers just doing a marathon day of shooting and it's cheaper than booking your own.

If someone could post the photogs names it would be great thank!

I haven't done them, really wanted to, but never could fit it in.  Some good names that I've heard about are Tess Johnson and Melissa Robitti (sP?)

I did some with Melissa Robotti during a marathon session in August.  I got married last weekend, and the pictures *just* came in time.  (a time span of 2 months since I took the pictures and when I received them)  After a while I started to think they wouldn't come in in time to give to DH before the wedding, but they came in the day before. 

Melissa was fantastic to work with, and I highly recommend her.  The marathon sessions were given a discount, but she also has a lot of options for what style of book you want.  Some much more expensive than others. 

If you can get a session three months before, I'd say that would be decent timing.  But, of course, always check with the photographer you go with for details.
