Experience with Caitlin Murphy, Stylist. or Special Events Beauty

hi everyone

i got some recommendations from this board for her...i contacted her and she has my date available, but i noticed that she takes awhile to get back with you. i have tried to call her cell, but voicemail picks up each time. as far as email communication, it just concerns me bc it took her over a week to get back to me after my initial inquiry. just wanted to know if this is normal? 

also...special events beauty is the same. they told me they would get back with me a week ago but still havent? just wondering if his is normal?

I'm working with special event beauty, I booked them a few months ago.  I didn't have a problem the times that I had to get in touch with them. 

I haven't spoken to Caitlin Murphy before but I've heard great things about her work.

I'm also working with Special Event Beauty. I haven't had any issues reaching them. I know that Caitlin is on vacation so that's probably why she hasn't responded yet.

thanks it's just frustrating bc i need to book this soon...my date is popular (new yrs eve) and i really like both of them, so either would work. there is a back up i have that wants the contract asap, but she is really not who i want bc she doesnt do the airbrush. i have been waiting on them but they are both being flaky, so it's just a little frustrating! it's good to know that others have positive experiences with them, though, bc that gives me a little hope that itll get resolved.

I have booked Caitlin for my wedding in April.  I had my trial with her a month ago and absolutely adore her!  Not only did she do a great job, but she's a genuinely wonderful person.  After the trial, I actually felt like a bride...even more so than when I tried on my dress.

She's currently on a cruise outside of the country for a few weeks I think.  So, I would give it at least until then to expect a response.  Hope this helps.

On February 28 I had inquired with Special Events Beauty for hair and makeup for my wedding in June. Whoever emailed me said that day they would "check the hairdressers schedule" on that very same day and would get back to me. I didn't hear anything. So on March 3 I asked for another update and told me they haven't forgotten about me and that she would let me know later that day. Well, it's March 21 and I was never acknowledged since March 3. Clearly I WAS forgotten. That's nice that people have had great experiences with them, but for me with their lack of acknowledgement I think it's just a BAD sign for me to go with them, even if they are available. I shouldn't have to keep on top of them if they're interested in getting more business. It's unfortunate because I keep hearing they do great work.

that is EXACTLY what they did to me! EXACTLY. word for word! i called, they said they were available but needed to check w/ the hair stylist to see if they hadnt booked something else independently! well i called back a few days later...and they told me that they hadnt forgotten about me, they had my contact info, just waiting to hear back from the stylist. STILL HAVENT HEARD FROM THEM.

my mom said to just forget about them by now.

i really really want caitlin murphy but am just a little nervous because of the timing. i dont want to let this other back-up go bc if i do, i really will have nothing. but waiting a few more weeks until she's back from vacation would mean taking the risk that i wouldnt have anyone, even though she says my date is NOT yet booked. i just dont know how many inquiries she gets!

I am working with Special Events and they had been fairly prompt with getting back to me about the availability of my wedding date.  I did have to wait a little bit for them to get back to me about when we can schedule for my hair trial.  But once figured out their schedule, they did contact me and we set up a time with no problem.  I also emailed to inquire about something else and they got the hairdresser to personally contact me.  She seemed busy but she ended up being very helpful and I can't wait to meet her in person for my hair trial!

As for Cailtin, I did contact her, too, when I was shopping for a stylist (this was back in Feb.) but she took the longest to respond to me and by then I was already very happy with Special Event and I had gone with SEB already. 

I am not sure what it all means, but thought to share my experience I have with them.
