Vendor Reviews--DJ and Venue

We want to give huge shout-outs to our DJ, Peter from NuImage, and our ceremony and reception venue, the Museum of Science.  Both were awesome for our wedding on July 31, 2010.  We couldn't recommend them enough.  Specific reviews are below:

The Museum of Science was the perfect spot for our wedding.  The views from along the Charles River were beautiful and taking photos in and around the museum with the T-Rex, at the space capsule and in the energy room provided us with the unique setting we had in our minds.

The staff was spectacular throughout the entire process.  They’re the kind of people in which you can have complete and total confidence that everything will be done in exactly the way you want.  The museum uses Wolfgang Puck as their caterer which means you don’t have to pick your own (which we viewed as a positive…one less thing we had to worry about!).  They were extremely flexible and helpful in creating a menu for the evening; for example we had Indian and Thai curries as part of the menu choices which were delicious and our guests loved!  The staff working the night of the wedding was fabulous as well, which included a personal waitress for the two of us who brought us food, drinks, or whatever else we needed.

We thought the Museum of Science was an amazing venue for our wedding and we can’t recommend it enough!

We told Peter a few months before our wedding that we really just wanted it to be fun and lively and ensure that people would be up dancing the whole time.  He delivered in a big way!!!  We’ve gotten comments from so many of our guests that they think Peter is the best DJ they’ve ever heard and they’ve never had so much fun at a wedding.  He constantly read the crowd perfectly and always came up with the right song to either pull people back out on the dance floor or keep them there, including some of our older family members who typically you would never find out dancing.

From a logistics standpoint everything ran perfectly and exactly as we had discussed beforehand.  During the planning process Peter and his office assistant Lisa were always very helpful and offered some really great suggestions.  I’m sure there are some DJs in the area that cost less than NuImage, but in my opinion they were worth every cent.  Peter was amazing and if you want to have a fun, energetic, crazy, unforgettable, dance-filled night then look no further!

I have booked the Museum of Science for our October 2011 wedding - did you use the Skyline room?  Also, did you have cocktail hour at the same area as the reception or use two separate areas within the museum?  We are trying to find out what to do about DJ, whether have him just at the reception and have alternate music in the cocktail area location, or something creative :)
