BM store selections

Hi everyone, besides David's Bridal, does anyone know or reccomend any other chain stores that are nation wide?  all of my BM except one live out of MA and I want to make things a lot easier on them by finding a store that has BM dresses and are also close to them.....I may end up going w/David's Bridal, but just thought I would ask...I know you can order BM dresses online from j.crew, etc but a lot of times those are online only which can be tough and a pain in the ass to order the right size, return them, get a different size, etc

Check out Dessy.com and go to Find a retailer, they have them all over the country. They have a ton of selection of really nice dresses.

if you pick what designer you want,, for instance After Six, they are available at stores natiowide - so your bms would just have to check for a bridal store nearest to them that carry the brand and order their s through that store.
    good luck x

I agree with PP-- most major designers will be in BM stores nationwide. Bella Bridesmaid is a chain, but they have a limited selection of gorgeous but pricey dresses.

I have to say that J.Crew is really one of the more affordable options- and I think the sizes are more likely to fit than others. Plus you could return it, whereas many BM dresses they have to order a size or 2 up, all have to be ordered at the same time to come in the same color (die lot), and they cannot be returned.

I agree with PPs, most major designers have stores in different areas. Alfred Angelo and Jasmine are two other big names.

BUT- why are you worried about the stores? You will need to order all the dresses through one store. Are you having the BMs go and try the dress on before deciding? If so, that is very nice of you, but might be kind of difficult to coordinate. if you are worried about everyone liking the style, just pick a designer and color and let them choose the style.

Even though the J.Crew dresses have to generally be ordered online, they are really really really great about returns/exchanges. In fact, you can order the special event line online and return it in store if thats any help (and if they have a J.Crew store locally they'll measure the girls and order the dresses right in store for them if you're worried about size.) Even with Davids Bridal, your girls will likely go in and try on the style that you want them to buy, but they'll still have to "order" the dress. I mean, rarely can you go into a DB and find the exact dress you need in the exact color you need in the right size. They kind of carry a mish mosh of them in the store and have you just order the dresses to pick up later.

Even if your bridesmaids are out of state you can still have them all order from one store.  I had bridesmaids in 4 states- I went to a store with 2 bridesaids and we picked a dress.  The other bridesmaids just had to call in their measurements.

I didn't realize you would have to order all the BM dresses from 1 store...I thought that once I decided on a designer/color, each BM could go to a store that had that particular dress/designer/etc and they could try on the dress at that store and order from that store that is closest to them..why do they all have to be ordered from 1 store?

They have to all be ordered from one store so that they will be cut from the same dye lot- it is the only way they will guarantee that the colors will all be the same. But your BMs could try the dresses on at one store and then just call in their measurements to another store.
