I like the 2nd and 4th styles best. I've worn after after 6 burgundy dress before and the color was very pretty. I think either brown or burgundy would be nice.

Have you asked your bms yet? What's their preference?

I like all of the dresses you picked out. Once your girls try them on, it will really come together. Definitely agree with October... ask your girls if they have a preference between burgundy or brown.

I like 3 and 4, have you ever thought of navy? We are doing navy and gold for our September wedding, blue and yellow look really pretty together! If not I would do the brown with sunflowers.

Hi snoangel, navy was the first color I thought of and it's still a possibility, but it seems to be a hard color to find. I LOVE the brown and think I may go with that color, but we'll see...thanks

p.s. where are you getting your bridesmaid dresses?

My bridesmaid dresses are from Flair on Newbury they are in my bio I will not recommend them however! hahaha Um really bad experience where bridesmaids were not measured correctly at the shop and dresses are all too small on chest but there beautiful silk dupioni navy dresses!!! The designer herself has been very helpful, the shop not so much for what we paid!! For navy look at Jenny Yoo, Watters,Jcrew has some cute ones, there were a few other designers that I cannot think of that had nice navy dresses.

Hi there, out of the ones above, I love both the 2nd and 3rd styles, and the espresso color would be beautiful!

If you do want to go navy, though, my girls are wearing Belsoie #L1069 (http://tinyurl.com/2fmyljm) in navy and it's a great color and super-flattering on everyone. We got them at PartyDressExpress, down in Fall River. They have great customer service and give discounts too depending on how many BMs you have (I have 6, and they all got either 30% off or free alterations)! HTH!

i really like all of them. i feel like you could definitely wear the third one again and i love the fourth one.

i think both colors could work. i'm a little biased though, seeing as mine were chocolate brown :) i think it's a beautiful color for the fall. these were mine if it helps at all:

I love number 4, but I like them all.

Just a word of caution- don't fall in love with a color on a computer screen. I had my heart set on a color (it was actually burgandy) and when I got to the store and saw the swatch I H.A.T.E.D. it! Maybe take a few of your girls to a store to see what style works and then pick the color,?

I also love the navy idea. Jim Hjelm has a great Navy!

My BM Dresses will be Burgundy. I am also having a Fall 2011 wedding. The dresses I am picking though are floor length. I do like 2 and 4 of the dresses you picked. And I think the colors you are thinking of sound great!!!

Thanks everyone.....I'm just in the "thinking" phase of it all....finally decided on my bridesmaids (it was tough), but I will be having 6 total BM. I haven't actually asked anyone yet. The above dresses were at a store someone on here recommended and I just love them all...I love the tea-length too...I love espresso, burgundy, and navy colors....it will be hard to get all the BM together b/c 2 live in Atlanta, 1 lives in CT, 2 live in NY, and 1 lives here, but on the south shore with a 3mo old baby. The out of state folks, especially the ones in Atlanta may have to order online b/c I'm not sure of the next time I will see them. It will all work out in the end..that's what I keep telling myself..it will all piece itself together (I hope anyways).

i'm sure it will all come together!! don't worry :)

the only thing i would recommend (depending on the designer you end up choosing) is maybe not ordering online. a lot of designers will have different dye lots, so if you're ordering online, you may end up with slightly different colors on the dresses. though, with that said, a lot of salons will take orders over the phone and that way they can all be put into the same lot. just something to keep in mind!!

    good luck planning!! :)

I think one's mileage may vary on online ordering... All of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses (After Six was the designer) online and the colors were perfect even though 1 ordered her dress 6 weeks after the others. They each saved $100 on their dresses, so it was worth it for them and for me. I've also been in a few weddings as well and ordered my dresses online and they looked great.

Hi hpinault, thanks for the tip....I think what will ultimately end up happening, is that those BM that can come shopping w/me will get to try on the dresses to see what they like and the decision will be made, they will be measured, then the other BMs that may not be able to go shopping w/us will have to go have their measurements taken and call them into the store....I can then ship the dresses to them or the store can ship them and then they will have to alter them if needed. It's hard b/c my FI has 3 sisters, 1 in CT who I am closest with b/c I see her often, the other 2 are in Atlanta, my good friend is in Syracuse, NY, my sister-in-law is in NY, and my other good friend lives on the south shore with a 3mo year old baby......

thanks!! i loved them too :) they're jim hjelm. i got them from allegria bridal in belmont. here's the link to the dress on the website. you can get it in a solid (like mine above) instead of the different color top and bottom http://www.jlmcouture.com/Jim-Hjelm-Occasions/Bridesmaid/Additional/Style-5808

I highly recommend going to a store to try them all on first. We had four different dresses picked out, and then found even more we liked - and one we loved!

I'm getting married in October and knew right away I wanted the expresso or chocolate brown color. I think it makes the flowers (red/orange calla lilies) pop even more. I do like the idea of the burgandy dresses, though!

You can see all the dresses we were looking at (one of your after six dresses, too!) in my bio.
