Help!! Dress for Engagement Party!?!

My Fiance's mother is planning an Engagement party for us at the end of March, the 21st at the Tewksbury Country Club in his hometown outside Boston but I have NO idea what to wear!! It is going to be a luncheon from 2-6pm. His entire family on both sides will be there and while I have met them all before on a few different occasions I am still slightly freaking out, oh and did I mention that I have finals the week before so I don't have a whole ton of time to shop!! Everyone that I have talked with has said "Sunday Best" but everything I have found has either been too sweet or too matronly and I don't want to appear as either of those...I would hate for people to say, why is he marrying her?!?  Any help that you can give me, advice on what you wore, links to dresses or anything would be really appreciated!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I wore a navy blue linen Banana Republic sheath dress to my engagement party.  belted it with a skinny white ribbon, and wore navy with white piping peep-toe ballet flats.  They are not selling that dress anymore, but maybe you would consider:

I also have had great luck with dresses from anthropologie:

...I don't know your style at all, but don't over-stress this.  I'm sure you will find something lovely.

I think you should have luck with Banana, Anthro, or even Lord and Taylor or Nordstrom. I would look for something that may be too fancy for work but not too much. I got a cute dress from Bloomie's  for our rehearsal dinner. It's in my bio, I would do something along these lines.

I would check out Nordys as well as Ann Taylor and maybe Lord & Taylor.  Find something that you feel great in.  After all, you're the bride so you can definitely feel free to dress up!
