HD Videography??

My videographer recently offered HD upgrades to packages.  Because I already contracted with him, he is offering us a discount on the upgrade.  So is HD worth it for your wedding video?

My wedding was filmed in HD, mostly because my parents wanted it done that way. lol  I do have to say though, that the picture quality is insane... It almost feels like you could step into the screen.

If the upgrade cost is not too much, I'd do it.  The difference in quality is extremely noticeable, especially on any kind of HD TV.  Since a wedding video is something that you will keep for years and possibly want to watch in say 10 or 20 years, getting the best quality you can now will make a huge difference later on.

Will he be using HD cameras to film regardless?  If he films in HD but then will deliver on standard def DVD, it will still look good.  They have to compress it a bit to fit on a standard DVD, but the quality is still way better than if it was filmed with a standard def camera (although Blue Ray is probably better for longevity).  However, if the difference is between filming in standard def and HD, definitely go for the filming in HD.

honestly even if the price is a little high.. I would do it. I may not have said the same thing before seeing my video though. HOWEVER- having seen it I know not doing HD would have been a HUGE mistake. The quality is unreal...
