What's your favorite venues

My fiance and I are leaning toward the south shore area and are looking at venues

Can anyone recommend some places to look into - even if you didn't book them?

TIA!!

Barker Tavern where Shazzie got married last month is awesome! It is in Scituate. Her wedding was gorgeous :)

Black Rock - technically my dad looked into it because hes a member and was pushing for it but its a beautiful country club and the food is great - we just chose the Seaport because we wanted something on the water

I loved my venue - Barker Tavern. The staff was wonderful, everything wedding related for us was in Scituate Harbor, and I'm just crazy about the town itself. The tavern really made it for us with it's fireplace, great food, and the overall feeling of coziness. It's anything but typical.

Indian Pond CC in Kingston is stunning!  FI and I fell in love with it, but they didn't have anything near our date available!

We are having our reception at Black Rock, we fell in love with the back deck and the views of the golf course. The food there is very good and the windows in the function room make the room feel so spacious and open. It's def worth checking out. I've been to a wedding at Indian Pond and it's beautiful there as well.
    Good luck with your search.

I have been to a lot of weddings at The Canoe CLub in W. Bridgewater... it is nice but not one of my favorites.  Lake Pearl in Wrentham might not be technically on the South Shore but it is close and very nice.

One of my bridesmaids had her wedding this past summer at Waverly Oaks in Plymouth. I don't know if that's too far but it was beautiful and the food was great.

My FI and I really loved The Sapphire Estate in Sharon.  It is a little on the small side, since it is more of a house than a hall (I'd say 150 people max to fit comfortably).  Its cozy, quaint, and up a hill from a huge lake (perfect for outdoor pictures!)

We also loved Spring Valley Country Club, also in Sharon!   We really liked the layout of the cocktail hour space into the hall.  It is also much larger and open than Sapphire Estate.

    Good luck!

South Shore meaning Braintree area? How far do you want to travel?

If you're willing to travel to Kingston, check out Indian Pond Country Club.

Depending on the size of your wedding, and the feel you're going for, TJ Smith's Victorian House in East Bridgewater is beautiful, and their rates are really good (as is their food!).

Great list everyone - thanks for the help!!

We're looking in a rather broad area - Quincy out to Franklin and down toward Hingham.

We're looking at the red lion inn in cohassett at the moment - anyone been there?

I had my reception at Atlantica in Cohasset.  We loved it.  Its really pretty and has great food.  I love that it is right on the water.  You can't beat the views.  You should check it out if you are checking the Red Lion Inn out.
