has anyone heard of Berkachi Bridal?

Hi everyone, my Mom's friend told her about Berkachi Bridal in Cambridge, MA where you have to make an appt and it's just you at the time w/the store consultant....their dresses cost between $500-$1300.  Let me know.  Thanks.

I used to drive by it everyday on my way to work. They had some GORGEOUS dresses in the window but I have no actual experience with the store itself.

    Hi,

I bought my dress from Berkachi Bridal. The owner, Donna, is very nice and helpful. They do fittings by appointment only, meaning you are the only person in the store, can try on any dress, and get Donna's undivided attention. I think this shop is best for people who don't want to/can't spend a lot on wedding dresses. All of the dresses I tried on were taffeta, which is in line with their modest prices, but if you don't like that material don't be immediately put off. I have heard that the dresses can be ordered in silk, but since I wasn't looking for that I didn't ask and therefore don't personally know if that is true. For me, I knew I didn't want to spend a ton on a dress I was I was ony going to wear half a day, so this place was perfect for me. There are some reviews on yelp if you want to check it out. The dress I bought is from Eden Bridal, so you can check them out to see of these dresses look like something you would be interested in.

    Hope that helps!

Lingskillet, I'm confused...first you said you bought your dress at Berkachi Bridal, but then later in your response you said you got your dress from Eden Bridal....which store did you actually get your wedding dress at?

Sorry for the confusion. I bought an Eden Bridal dress from Berkachi Bridal. Like buying an Oleg Cassini dress from David's Bridal.

I went to Berkachi Bridal and I wasn't that impressed.  They had a pretty small selection of dresses and I didn't really like very many of them.  We were in and out in like 30 mins.  But as it is always worth a try!

If you are looking for a dress under $1000 (like me), I'd suggest these stores:

Camilla's in Arlington (that's where I bought mine!)
    Precious Memories in Malden
    Brides Choice in Waltham
Marry & Tux in Nashua, NH

All these stores had a pretty good selection of dresses for under $1000.  I specifically loved Maggie Sotterro dresses (I bought Coco).  They are very good quality and my dress was $800.  People were SO impressed with it and said it looked much more expensive!!
