FAIL of the morning

So we printed some menu cards to go into the pocketfolds because we wouldn't be able to fit the names of the meals on the RSVP on cardsandpockets. FI did them and I gave them a once over and they were fine.

I get them in the mail last night and I'm thinking how pretty they look when I realize that our guests are going to be eating boneless breat of chicken instead of boneless breast of chicken ::facepalm:: the letters are spaced out enough that I may be able to write in an s with a thin felt tip pen....I'll have to experiment with that...I really don't want to re-print them b/c that is another $40 out the window! Oh well, my guests will get a kick out of it...

So that begs the question...

Latest Fail (NWR) Building holiday party last night: I tell my cop neighbor that my car is the red mini with the expired virginia plates....guess I have to get those changed now.

My fail of the day:

Today I am going to my company luncheon. Directly from the luncheon I am hopping on a train to NYC for DH's work party. I picked out a snazzy cocktail dress and heels to wear today and tonight and get dressed this morning. I am running late and open the front door to race to my car, when what to my wondering eyes should appear? But the trash I had brought out last night....ALL OVER THE STAIRS, PORCH and SIDEWALK. I was Boston's best-dressed garbage lady this morning.  

Thanks, raccoons. FAIL!

The T is also a big FAIL today - First the Green Line train I'm on keeps shutting down every few stops - Then, some poor guy FELL off at Boylston (he's alright!) - Then while getting on the Red Line @ Park Street the train pulls up and there's a million people on the platform and a million people in the train - They inform us that the 5th car isn't taking passengers (Um, why?!!?) and then as people are getting off the train, this VERY angry man like punches this guy in the face!!! The gy is so shocked that he just gets on the train. What the hell is wrong with people!?!?!

FI expressed that he was a little down in the dumps because we're so broke these days and we cant "date" like we used to.  I've told him its the little things that count. That we don't need trips and expensive things to be happy. 

So I planned a nice dinner and desert in the crock pot.  Got a movie and borrowed my dads skates so we could go skating tonight.

I called FI and said I had a surprise tonight and he reminded me that we had his son for the weekend. 

The fail:  Step son doesn't like the dinner or the desert
               Movie is rated R  not for step son's eyes
               Step son also hates to ice skating.  *reason:  he says he's too overweight and gravity makes him kiss the ice haha
