Hey there, I saw your escort card "photo" and that is so cool. Thanks so much for the instructions. How easy do you think it will be for guests to find their cards even if they're alphabetical? Do you think they'll have to pull two or three different ones off to find it? Also, how are you attaching the cards to the board to make it easy to get them off?

Hey!  I didn't do it yet.. but January bride has great instructions.  Also, squirrly (one of the moderators) did one too.

I bought backing board at hobby lobby (50% off sale!!) and I will use strong glue to tack the image down to the board.  To attach the cut pieces to full image- I will use glue dots (picture the sticky stuff they attach credit cards to in the mail).  JanBride recommended keeping the board flat until ready for display.

I will have the guests name underneath the pictures and the table # and dinner selection on the back.  I will use white/silver ink underneath the pictures to write the names.  I hope it will be easy for people to glance around and look for names with similar groupings (ie.. G/Hs are over here) and then narrow down their name.

You bring up a good point though.  I have a huge guest list (300) and even though guests will have a long cocktail hour.. it may be more difficult.  Perhaps I will create a sign with a simple description asking guests to pull their place card off the board.  On the table, I can put a small book with the guest list alphabetized in excel sheet format and include table number, meal selection, and location on the board (Row 3, Column 5).  Since I have to make the list anyways before I get started.. I might as well make it accessible.

Oh haha.. just read your other note.. guess I am a slow typer.

I am also doing it by the couple because my guest list is so big!  That should make things go by faster.  Still, I have about 30 couples with one last name (lots of sons on that side of the family!) and another 10+ with the same last name.  I guess it may be slightly more difficult for them.

Great. I didn't realize the names were on the front (ha!) So that would definitely make it easier. I also think we won't have more than about 100 cards because we're doing couples on one card, so that will maybe make it easier. And maybe I'll make the black extend out more so the names are bigger. This is such a great idea!! I'm so glad I read the post where you mentioned it! Thank you!! And thanks for the info on the board and glue.
