Directions in the invitation

I'm in the fence about including directions from the church to reception on the reception card. Most of the guest are from OOT, but most people seem to have a GPS or smartphone. What do you all think? (FYI - the poll should say directions instead of instructions.)

Re: Directions in the invitation

  • I would include directions, just in case someone doesn't have a GPS. But don't put them on the actual invitation, just include an insert.
  • An alternative would be if you plan on doing ceremony programs, include them on the back, some people don't save the inserts or forget them.
  • I would do a directions insert as well. Sometimes, the GPS doesn't take you the most logical way and someone who knows that area would know the best way to take. We did directions from the major highway into our city to the ceremony venue and then directions from the ceremony to reception venue.

You can also print directions on any wedding programs you have.  Thats what we are doing.

  • We really like the suggestion for including them on the program. This way everyone is covered. Thanks for the idea.

  • In our invitations I put the address of the reception. I also stated if they wanted actual directions to go on our wedding website.

  • I think it's always a good idea to include driving directions.
  • I like putting it on the program. Because if I knew where the church was, I'd probably NOT bring the invite with me. Or I'd forget to bring it even if I intended to, cuz I'm like that sometimes. On the program, it's in your hand right when you need it.
