Well fuuck.  Please don't quote me (hardy, har, har), but I kind of see this trolls point a teeny tiny bit.  I mean I think the general message sent to the OP of that post was that to save drama in the office invite her, but she sure did get a lot of sh*t for just genuinely not liking the lady b/c the lady was fake to her.  I mean you can't really help that you don't trust or like a coworker that you're forced to work with.  Some of the responses seemed to be blatantly trying to hand a$$ to the OP.  I think if she had given less details about the situation (like lady was 85, not sure why she works, blahblahblah) then the responses may have been different.

I think I finally found the E soft spot........OLD PEOPLE.  My next troll will be an old lady.  I'll be like the most insanely popular reg EVER!

Sorry, I did quote you. Thank you for seeing my point. Do I really qualify as a troll though? I mean I wasn't TRYING to start drama, I just wanted to point something out.

Nope :)  I was just saying that any/all answers to a question on the etiquette board are based on the RULES of etiquette.  They aren't opinions nor a personal attack.

Holy crap, cue the music that plays at the end of every Full House episode when they have a heart to heart.

What makes you think you are more special than the 100 other girls that have done this before you?
People on this board are actually very good at coming out and apologizing/admitting when they are wrong.  People weren't wrong to think that you..I mean the OP of that thread... were being overly judgemental about the woman's age and still working.

YES!! I love the part where its like "Curtis returns after being at his grandmothers house for several hours and eating chicken nuggets".

    I haven't read that thread fully cause I don't give a crap.

In general, however, a lot of what causes the "school yard beatdown" as you term it, is stupidity on the part of OP in phrasing, not giving correct or giving insufficient information.  You get what you ask for.

The board (as it exists today) doesn't purposely try to find things wrong with what people post about on here.  For the specific thread you are speaking to, from an etiquette standpoint, yes, it's rude to invite one coworker over the other in such a small office.  Normally, it really is okay to only invite those with whom you are close.  But it's a two person office.  *shrug*

For the record, there were people *I didn't, and still don't, like* invited to my 70 person wedding.  I didn't like doing it, but I did it because I didn't want to deal with the fallout. From what I read, that's what OP was told as well.
