AW - green card, we haz it!

We had our green card interview this morning. We got approved.

I CAN FINALLY FRIGGEN BREATHE!!!! Ugh no more weekends trying to hunt down proof, no more worrying about needing to leave the country. No more throwing away money to the INS.

I'm going to scratch this off my list of things to worry about. and that feels Soooooooooooooo good.

you and me dear need to have a chat about this UK nonsense haha. I would really like to have dual citizenship like he will so that if we were to relocate to the EU I could work. But I'll pick your brain on that in a year or two :)

Manda you can check the new sig for your answer to that question! haha

NCV2 is the one you want to ask for the UK.  I would imagine that they would want proof of a valid marriage over the next two years to prove that you didn't get married just so he could get a US Green Card.

I amd still collecting proof that H and I are in France together, so that in two years for our interview, I can prove that yes, we were living together and that we didn't get married just so I could get Australian Residency.  I am afraid they'll ask since I left the country 24 hours after my Provisional Visa was granted.

Yay for some great news, Gina!

Funny INS interview story. When my sister and BIL went for their interviews, my sister was about 8 months pregnant at the time. Is that proof enough of a "valid marriage"?
  • Congrats!  What a weight lifted...  We'll see if DH and I decide to apply for his.  Not looking forward to the process - plus, we'd have to travel to a really awful city for the interview :(

How long did it take from start to finish?  Did you use a lawyer?
  • Can someone fill me in on what these interviews are like?  Do we need to start studying for this?
