kids

So I have a guestlist of 100 people over that and we pay $50 a pop. So is it ok to tell my friends who have kiddos to not bring them? Even if im letting my immediate family bring their kids? And would it be ok to write a personalized not to them explaining I love their kids but because of the numbers they will need to stay at home?

Re: kids

  • It's fine to not invite friends' kids but do NOT write them a note or bring it up to them. Just address the invitations to the adults. If they ask if their kids are invited, then you can let them know you are only inviting children of family members because of the venue limitations.

  • Yeah it would be OK. Like PP said just address the invites.

I would just not invite them. Ya know, address the envelopes to the adults or who ever is invited. It's okay to invite kids who are family and kids who aren't family.
Not everyone will like that, though... and a personalized note isn't going to change that, so I'd drop the note idea.

  • We are doing the same thing.  Inviting kids in the family but that is it.  No friends or co-workers kids by any means.  And that is pretty well understood by most people anyway.

Address the envelope to Mr and Mrs Smith only.  They'll get the hint.
