I really, really do not get the whole plus one issue. I guess I think differently then other people on certain things.
I was in a serious relationship and was invited and a hostess at a wedding and he wasnt invited. I knew other people there so coming alone was no problem. Ive also been in wedding parties and given up my plus one since the bride was over booked and he didnt know anyone there. I wonder why a wedding party member needs a date as he or she will be away from him or her most of the night.
Also, I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and my SO wasnt sure at the time of his work schedule. She needed an answer so I RSVP for just me. He later found out he could come but I dare not bother her with my problems so I went alone and had a great time.
I just do so much get the whole big "plus one" and "can I bring a date" thing.
A bride recently did only married and engaged as plus ones and some guests complained but she didnt bend and it turned out fine.
I just dont get the big deal. Im putting my armor on for the attacks.
