What's an appropriate "Thank You" gift for your Bridal Shower host?

My aunts hosted a beautiful shower (40 + guests) for me this past weekend and probably spent about 1k. I'd really like to get them a thoughtful thank you gift, but I can't think of anything special that won't cost me too much (not that they don't deserve it but they are 3 aunts and I'm less than 2 months way from the weddingthat  I am paying myself!) Any ideas???

Re: What's an appropriate "Thank You" gift for your Bridal Shower host?

  • I got one of those things to hang my purse on a table with when I co-hosted a shower. It's useful I guess, but I never remember to use it.

I knew that my shower hostess was a huge wine drinker, so I got her an electric wine bottle opener and a bottle o' vino.

Maybe you can get them a bottle of wine and a kind TY card? Are they "hostess-y" a lot? Maybe a nice serving platter - I got one for my BFF at TJ Maxx for $15. Take a look around places you wouldn't expect to find something!
  • Write them each a nice thank you note.  I also gave my aunt that hosted my shower a small LL Bean tote bag with a bottle of local (to me) wine and a Philosophy body wash set (they have a "thank you" one, which is what I ended up getting).  If your aunts like getting cut flowers, you could send flowers.
  • I got mine a nice shower set with body wash and a loofa and a good smelling candle.  I also wrote them each a very nice and personal thank you card.  At the top of the card I wrote "I hope your next shower is as nice as mine was."

  • I've heard of that "hope your next shower is as good as mine" idea with umbrellas as the gift, too.  Super cute!
  • I had two showers.  For my mom's friend that hosted, I got a beautiful flower arrangement.  For my FMIL that hosted, I got one of those edible arrangements.

I stole it from someone else.  I wish I was actually that creative.

  • All of these ideas are great.

  • I would add looking at Ross and Marshall's as well, especially if you don't have a TJ Maxx nearby.

I did the same as kc...for some of the girls I have umbrellas instead of the loofah/soap gear.
  • I'm going to get a groupon for one of those gallery wrapped canvases with her and her husband's wedding picture. I'll probably do the same for the parents. There's usually a groupon in some city for them at least a couple times a week for around $40.
  • I sent my friend a bouquet of flowers to her office. It was a great surprise AND it made her day. I also sent a thank you note with the flowers. She knows I did not have a lot of $ due to paying for our wedding and besides, she did not throw my shower to get a thank you gift...it was a great way to show her how thankful I was.

OH and I sent her a customizable cookie bouquet after she threw my bachelorette party!

Side note: It took getting married and posting on here quite a bit to finally learn how to spell bouquet without needing spell check to fix it:)
