F/U to BM drama/discontinued dress/general silliness

So, the dress I wanted my BMs to wear (and 4/5 loved, and the last one though "wasn't fancy enough") was discontinued today and dropped to $60. After a flurry of phone calls to different Anthropologie stores and my best business-y voice, I ordered all five dresses (plus one for me) and got them shipped for free to each girl.  I'm going to treat them to the dresses, since they were pretty reasonble.

I called the grumpy BM and told her.  She was quiet for about two minutes, told me she wasn't mad, just "really disappointed" I didn't pick a fancier dress or one that was more her personal style. Guilt trip for real. *Sigh* At least she didn't have to pay for it.

But yay BM dresses done!

Glad it all worked out!  And since you bought them (how nice of you!) she has no recourse.  Yay for getting her to stfu!

I don't know why people get so up in arms about BM dresses!  I mean, isn't it kind of expected that you're not going to 100% love something you don't pick out yourself?  I'm fashion obsessed and I would still wear any piece of crap the bride threw at me (although your dress is cute and not crap).

That's a gorgeous dress and plenty fancy, IMO.  Your BM was pretty rude to complain about it, especially since she didn't have to pay for it!

I'm glad you got the dress situation worked out.  Since the dresses have already been bought, maybe she'll stop her complaints about it.  It's not like you can change it now.

It was very sweet and generous of you to pay for the dresses.  Boo to your bridesmaid; I hope she comes around.

What you should have done is have the four BMs wear the Anthropologie dress and have BM #5 wear the most ridiculously frothy prom dress you could find at a consignment shop. That would teach her!!
