Irrational Irritations - Or Rational Ones....Whatever

I get irritated on pinterest when people pin food or beverages and don't put what it is. They just write "Yummy" or "can't wait to try this!" Ok, how hard is it to put what it is? and then write those things. This is really irrational because it takes two clicks for me to go to the actual website to find out what it is.

I think it becomes rational though when the pin doesn't take you to the actual website.

Anyone else?

  • I have that irritation too.

I'm irrationally irritated that H is not getting time off this week so I will not get to see him for the holiday - wait that might be a rational irritation.

MK - YES! I have to go look at the recipe and then rename it. Ugh!

ETA: I'm irritated that FI's work sent him to MIami and didn't send anyone with him so he asked me to come to keep him company. I did not enjoy the 4 hour drive here last night. Neither am I excited to be sitting in a hotel room hoping he gets done soon so we can drive over 4 hours back. I love him, but still, why did he ask me?

I'm irritated at myself for being irritated about it. He is a great guy and this is the least I can do.

  • I ordered pants for FI for Christmas size 28x29.  They sent 38x29 which is obviously a huge difference.  I was on the phone on/off hold for over an hour trying to figure it out and the lady was super rude (as if it were my fault) and then told me I needed to wait for a return slip to send it back, and wait til they got it til they would send the correct pants.  I told them then I needed them for Christmas (ordered them beginning of December so shouldn't have been a problem) and she said she would send the new pants and the packing slip.

I got the new pants the other day.  No packing slip.  Yay I have the pants.  But I kind of want to send the other ones back so I don't accidently get charged twice or something ridiculous.

In the last couple of years, mine has been like that too. My mid 20's hormones are apparently way more off kilter than my teenage hormones. I don't know if yours is hormonal, but mine is and cutting back on dairy and getting into a strict face washing/toner/moisturizer routine has helped tremendously for me.

  • Yeah loopy I don't think that's irrational at all. :-)

  • I'm irrationally irritated at my hair because I cut it short and have no idea what to do with it.

  • I'm irritated that charting seems so complicated to me, but everyone says it's really easy. And I bought a thermometer yesterday and opened it before double checking TCOYF and seeing that I shouldn't have one that measures to 1/100 of a degree. So now I don't know what to do.

  • Loopy - your irritation is in the rational category.

I'm irrationally irritated by any work at all that I have to do this week.  Yes, I'm getting paid.  So it makes sense that I have to work (and honestly, I don't even really have *that* much to do, compared to normal).  But everyone else is out, and I want it to be Christmas, dammit.

Are you irritated that you lost your temper? Irritated that your CW asked if the wedding is off? Or both? Or just irritated with your FI?

  • I'm irritated that my grandmother tried to give me guilt about going with FI to his family's house for Christmas. She started saying he has visited there a lot lately so why couldn't we stay home.

Pretty sure she lives 10 mins from us and we go over to her house every month for dinner and to play cards and I call her every week. I think it's ok for us to be gone for one holiday.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should ignore or round with the last number. I'm worried about temping in general bc I'm a really bad sleeper and I don't know that I ever get 4 uninterrupted hours of sleep. And if I was TTC I wouldn't be as worried, but I'm not yet haha

Irritated she walked in when FI and I were arguing on the phone, that was very unprofessional but I was the only one in the office so I thought I was safe, so bad timing. I apologized to her and told her that FI and I are fine.

ETA: I'm also irritated with FI of course but i'll get over it. Silly man

  • I'm irrationally irritated with the coworker (I do not know which one) who keeps putting air freshener things and scent diffusers in the bathroom.  I think most of them smell terribly and I'm actually allergic to a lot of scents and hyper-sensitive to others.  I'm so tempted to throw them away.

  • Anna, do you a paper chart for Fertility Friend or the TVOYF software or something else? I'll start temping this week (unless I don't get my pd and I'm knocked up, wouldn't that be ironic) so I'm all of a sudden freaking out about this haha

  • I use Fertility Friend. There is an iPhone app so I just enter it right after I temp while I'm still in bed. I think doing it online makes it easier. I would never want to do the whole paper thing and figure out my own coverline and stuff.

  • I'm irritated at work people today. I come in and the copier is jammed so I unjam it. It jams again. The sales manager goes over there "Oh..Can we call in a service call on this machine?" I told him yes we have a contract. He says "You need the phone number?' I just said "Oh..you want me to call?" He just said "Well..yeah."

I should have made him call since it was him that broke the darn thing. A-hole.

  • I'm rationally irritated that H won't be around for Christmas.  Or maybe that's irrational since I should have known it was coming.

I'm rationally pissed that my panic attacks have been coming in like gangbusters since yesterday, worse than ever.  I don't know if it's because I'm not done with my Christmas shopping (and only have the car tomorrow night), or because my sister is staying with us for a week starting tonight (Lord help me), or something else I haven't figured out yet.  I just want to enjoy the holidays dammit.

I have two irritiations, one of which is probably more rational than the other.

    1) My mom's been pretty sick lately, so I went home last weekend to give my dad a hand with stuff around the house (cooking, laundry).  While I was there she had to make her 2nd trip to the ER since being dischaged from the hospital last Monday.  She told me not to call my sisters.  The next morning I asked her if she wanted to call them or if she wanted me to do it.  She told me they didn't need to know, but I told her if one of them called me to check in on her I wasn't going to lie to them.  She was ok with that.  I'm irritated because I reminded her how she was annoyed that she wasn't notified when her mom was in the hospital on Christmas Eve the year before she died.  She had no response inititally, but came back at me the next morning telling me it's different because my sister's weren't there.  It doesn't matter if we don't live close by; we still want to know what's going on with you!

    2) This goes back to #1 in a way.  My younger sister lives two minutes up the road from mom & dad (but was in NC last weekend visiting our other sister).  She obviously knows that mom is not in any shape to be cooking Christmas dinner (so I'm taking care of it), but when I asked her if she wanted to take care of dessert for Sunday, she totally blew me off.  I get that she's having everyone over for Christmas Eve, but she thinks it's ok to tell people what they're bringing instead of waiting to see if people offer to bring something.
  • Oh and ditto to everyone's winter skin issues. I too, have irritations with skin. On my face especially. If anyone finds any magical potions/remedies, please let me know!
