Is there a full moon?

Good Lord...what is going on with this board today?  There must  be a full moon with the whacky, etiquette-horrifying ideas that some women are posting today!

I can't wait for FFF!

Re: Is there a full moon?

  • I agree. While there are some etiquette things that don't bother me or I don't necessarily agree with, I don't spout my opinion all over the etiquette board, since ya know, it's about etiquette.
  • I'm trying very hard not to gearshift to being a big B today.  All the 'do what you want, yay!' posts are timed too close a family tragedy, and I'm feeling grouchy.

  • I feel like I should be taking notes so I remember what I want to say on FFF...
  • It doesn't have anything to do with the moon.  It has to do with all of the Valentines Day proposals and we are still getting the BSC from the Christmas and New Years proposals.  This is why I advising knotting until the end of April with an adult beverage nearby.

This. Completely. Someone just posted on the thread where she sent STDs to her coworkers and now doesn't know what to do. The new poster basically said do whatever you want as long as you consider everyone's feelings. Huh?

You'll get May off and then the seriously BSC brides-to-be with prom proposals.  You're going to just want the whole bottle with you for those threads because, ya know, teenagers know everything and anyone ever the age of twenty is just a dried up old hag who doesn't know how to enjoy life.</div>

That's exactly what I'm talking about.  And of course their parents are totally against them but all of their friends think it is the best idea like...evah.  Oh, and while we may have been immature 18 year olds, everyone tells them just how mature they are and they've had more life experience than most forty year olds......which reminds me, don't actually drink while you are reading a post.  Wait until you have read and then take a drink otherwise your laptop, phone, etc. will at times become covered in said adult beverage from the spit takes you will be doing.

I need to make up my list of things you should do before getting married so I can just copy and paste it.  You know, little things like supporting yourself.</div>

<div>If you're too young to know how awful prom is, you're too young to get married. Case closed.</div>
  • Glass of wine.... Check! The idea of prom proposals horrifies me. Have you seen that new show"My Teenage Wedding"? Just the name was bad enough, I couldn't actually watch it. Just remembering the people I used to date back then... My mom gave me awesome advice when I was 15, "just remember if you get pregnant as a teenager you'll be stuck with some bonehead you thought was cool then for the rest of your life!" Oh so wise...

The mom of one of my friends sat our little group down in HS and said, "Do you know why we encourage you to give the nerds and dorks a chance?  It's because we know the men they grow up to be, what they look like and girls they are the ones that you want."  DH (who is a self-proclaimed total HS dork) and I went to my grade school reunion last year.  Seeing what happened to all the "cute" guys, I've never been so happy to have found my handsome dork.</div>
