Addressing a military doctor's invitation...

Several of my FI's cousins are dentists in the navy.  Would it be proper etiquette to address them using their military rank (ex. Lieutenant Smith), as Doctor Smith, or some combination of the two (ex. Lieutenant Doctor Smith)?  Thank you!

I believe their official titles are probably Lieutenant Dr. So and So, from my google searches, but I am no expert.

can't you just ask them how they want to be addressed?

Looks like military doctors just use their rank: 

Chaplains are addressed as Chaplain (Colonel) and Mrs. John Smith; however, doctors use their rank: Colonel and Mrs. John Smith.

Annie is correct, I am a military gal myself. It would simply read

Captain and Mrs. Guest

or

Captain and Mr. Guest
