Re: Well this is an interesting one

  • I posted this there, but as weird as that is in general I kind of like the image of hansel and gretel.  Better than a FG in a low cut spaghetti strap adult dress.

  • Maybe they are having a crazy, fairy-tale themed wedding!  The father of the bride could be dressed as the wolf, or the grandma!  Maybe the JP could be Rumplestiltskin?  The band can dress up as the three little pigs!

Ok, so maybe that second coffee today was too much.

  • Well... I think it just go's back to, they're not props.  Buuut that's me.
  • Yeah, but for the sake of argument, how is dressing them in a tux and mini bride dress much different than orderig they wear these costumes?

I agree that its... special. But I think the kids might actually like her idea better than itchy church clothes. As a guest, though, my eyes would definitely widen a bit.

I especially love "it means a lot to me." The Brothers Grimm? Really? Its not like you knew the guys personally.

  • I don't know how I feel about that. I think the hansel and gretel idea could be cute. However, all I could think when she said that the flower girl would be red riding hood was that the RB could be the wolf and how funny that would look. I much prefer the RB in a cute little tux or suit and the flower girl in a pretty dress.
  • But she diiiiiiiiiiiid!  She loves fairy tales cause that's what her life IS!  She is Cinderella!
  • Well...that's...cute? I can't think of anything nice to say...
  • It reminds me that, when my brother was a ring bearer in one our aunt's wedding many many many years ago, he saw that he was to wear a tuxedo and burst out crying "I thought I was going to get to wear a bear suit!"  Apparently, he heard that he was the "ring bear" and would get to dress the part.

So . . . apparently this kid gets to fulfill my brother's long-ago wish.
  • Oh I totally agree about the props thing, I just think hansel and gretel props are cuter than slutty 4 year olds/toddlers in tiaras props.

That is hysterical! Little kids crack me up...good thing my career choice is an elementary school teacher.
  • Yes, he hasn't been allowed to forget it for about 40 years now.
  • Haha, and he shouldn't be allowed to forget it. When my cousin was 3 or 4, we all went bowling. After he pushed his ball down the alley, he started crying and chased after it, causing him to slide down the lane. It was hysterical and we have yet to let him forget it. It's especially fun to remind him when he's around his baseball friends as he is a pitcher for UNLV.

Sorry for threadjacking...back to the fairy tale girl!
