Let's talk Xmas commericals.

Not the sappy feel good ones like the folger's or Coke-Cola ones

I'm talking about the products you did not even knew existed or that only show up at xmas time.

Today I saw a product called I've been Clocked   Apparently, you can become a clock, with your arms spinning around for the low price of $49.95.  Additional ones are half off.

Which commericals do you see this time of year and say what kind of prodcut is that?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • I always see all the Chia Pet commercials as Christmas gets closer.  Chia Pet, Chia Scooby (Scooby Do chia), chia garden, chia head, you name it and they make a chia pet for it.  And the clapper!

  • Oh God, Lynda I had to qc that commercial at work a month ago, and was cracking up watching that thing!
I think the Snuggie for dogs also fits in here....and for some reason the "salad shooter" I only ever see it this time of year.  Actually that said, I only ever seem to see Chia Pet and Clapper commercials this time of year as well....
  • i hate them and they sound especially desperate and pathetic this year.
  • Ok, I know you said no sappy Folgers commercial, but the latest one is just crazy.  It shows this cute guy coming home from Africa and his sister waited up for him in her jammies (and is brewing the coffee, of course).  There's just so much sexual tension between the brother and sister - and at then end she puts a bow on his shirt and says "you're my present this year!"  Yikes!
  • not sure I want to see that one Sounds creppy

  • I'm hating the new Target commercials with that creepy decorating lady.  I see where they're going with it, but seriously, it's a turn off.
  • Is that the skinny blonde all dressed in red? She is 'training' for black friday by pulling some sleds?

  • Yes - I can't stand that Target lady either!  She's out "getting in shape" in her high heels.

Obviously I am watching too much day-time television.
  • I just saw it the first time today.  I was like WTF??

I'm sure during the next month we will be seeing a lot more of these commericals.

  • The oddest commercial I've seen recently is for the cookie diet. A santa shows up on the screen, and then it shows a second image of a guy's abs in a santa suit. The abs are definitely NOT from the same body as the santa head in the ad. And it talks about how santa gets slim for xmas by eating cookies. It's  hilarious and slightly gross/creepy.
