What's for dinner?

I making a chicken panini on my new panini press.  I also think I might need a drink, tough day at work.

What are you having?

  • Since H got up 2 hours ealier than usual just to drive me into work becuase my car wouldn't start, I'm going to make him his favourite: pork sausages with Kraft dinner.  Bonus is, I like it too!  And it's so easy.
  • What are you putting in said panini?

I've got a chicken stew with carrots and potatoes going (because it's easy and I feel like death warmed over) and I'm cheating and having Pillsbury biscuits with it.

  • Nick is cooking, so either frozen pizza or pasta.

  • Mm, panini.

I'm making bul gogi (Korean marinated beef), cucumber kimchi, soy bean sprouts, sticky rice, and toasted kim (seaweed). It's comfort food for H, who is mondo stressing from finals and work this week.

  • I'm making Swordfish Steaks with a Dijon glaze and brown rice and baked zucchini rounds.
  • Chicken salad on a whole wheat wrap.  It's gotta be quick because we're power shopping tonight.

  • What kind of panini press did you end up getting lynda?
  • we're going for wings, mine and mark's favorite. It was his birthday yesterday so our friends are taking us out. Luckly he's been holding down food for the last 3 days...here's to hoping it's a good trend.

  • Flank steak with a soy and worchestershire marinade/sauce and sauteed onions -- probably served atop jasmine rice.

I asked my parents to buy it at BB&B because they had the 20% discount and I would just pay them back when they got here.  They just gave it to us as a gift.  Yay mom and dad..

  • Yummy. I use mine literally at least four or five times a week. With me working from home and Jay's office just up the street he comes home for lunch a lot and I'll make us paninis and soups or salads. I love them and there are infinite variations.

    I love goat cheese also.

the panini  is good.  DH would be impressed I cooked. I think I will be using this a lot.  It fits nicely on my small counter.  Easier to use than the over or stove..

Leftover filet mignon in a bordelaise sauce brought home from the restaurant where DH and I celebrated our anniversary on Friday (which is also where we got married!).

ETA: That was MY dinner; DH had the paella left over from his Friday night dinner.
  • This is going to totally shock you all because I'm switching it up. I'm having cottage cheese and a banana. No toast! I'm such a trailblazer, I know.
  • Cew, I'd say you're going to turn into cottage cheese, but that would sound awfully mean and not at all the way I meant it!
  • Unfortunately, my upper thighs have already turned into cottage cheese. It actually happened well before I developed my addiction.  Maybe that's why I love cottage cheese so much. It's a subconcious attempt to love myself. Wow. That's deep.
  • Well, it's only just past breakfast for me, but I believe we may make chicken san choy bau tonight.
  • Don't pretend like you aren't impressed with my deepness.
  • HA!  TiDa, we had pork sausages and beans earlier this week.  We grilled the sausages, then sliced them and threw them in with the beans.  SO yummy!

I have no idea what's for supper tonight.  It's too farkin' cold to go out, but i have no idea what we have in the house.

Seriously,  How do you put up with it that cold?  I think I would be depressed for half the year if I had to live there.

I really want wings, but I have no desire to leave this apartment and go outside.  I wonder if I can talk FI into bringing some home...
