It be morning!

Wake up peoples!  Nothing much happening for me today.  I might go through H's clothes today to help him get rid of stuff because he's busting his butt for the next few days to get things in a good spot for when we move.  Poor guy.

Good morning. I am eating eggs, omg this is the best breakfast ive had in WEEKS!! I am so excited to NOT try to make an entire dinner on the bbq tonight. Im tired as hell though, I got the bright idea to go to bed earlier than normal lastnight to try and keep my not-tired thing going, and it made me more tired. How does that work?!
  • Good morning.

Robert is home, sick as a dog.

They got my order wrong at Dunkin Donuts so my coffee is not hitting my spot.

Tomorrow is little sister's 22nd birthday so I'm determined to have a fun weekend.

YAY - it's almost the weekend!
  • good morning!

I made my dirt cake last night. :) I am so ready to eat some, I am thinking it will make an awesome breakfast.

CEW I made some for you but they didn't have a pink bucket :( i went to 3 stores!! and no pink bucket so I had to get you blue instead.

  • Nebb, that happens to me a lot.  Hopefully you're better tomorrow!

Alexia, sorry you're having a rough morning. :(
  • Good Morning!  I was also reading the how long have you been together thread, but when I pulled up my myspace to get pictures from when we started dating, I was SO embarrassed at how ugly I was.  Man Mr Stack sure has up'd my wardrobe and stylings, because I was a HOT MESS back then.  So I won't be posting a picture.

My morning is good.  My favorite ex coworker is coming up to visit the job for lunch today and I'm SO excited to see her.  I haven't seen her since my wedding.  WOOT.
  • Thanks dudettes, it'll be okay.  I just feel like it's been a long week.  I haven't cooked in like 10 days, so I just went up more on the scale.  It's gross, but I was sick, and Robert's been working crazy hours.  Now he's sick and I've been working crazy hours.  I gotta get outta my funk!

It doesn't help that my boss has been a little weird this week and I kinda want to ask him if he's mad at me, but it makes me feel like I'm in 7th grade.

I'm not sure how to say it more professionally, like do you have a problem with my performance? (that sounds rude to me) Have I done something to disappoint you? (that sounds childish also)

He's just being weird, kinda cold and distant.

I don't know what to do.

I wanted to make some! It looks so yummy!
  • Good Morning.

H is home and sick as can be.  I've never heard him cough like this.

I also found out that the moving company wants $12.50 a lb to "globally protect" my stuff during transit.  Yeah, that's $32,500.  Not happening.  So now I am going through and trying to remember what they have so I can itemize it and place a retail value on it.

I am so guessing on this whole form...

    Holy Crap.
  • Alexia - maybe you're just being overly sensitive about your boss because you're stressed out.  It might not have anything to do with you, maybe he has something on his mind that isn't work related.  I'd just carry on and continue doing a good job at work and he'll come around.

Of course I'm not there so don't know the situation, but I know I get overly paranoid when someone at work has an attitude like I"m the one that caused it.  Plus you're too sweet to upset anyone.  I'm sure of it!  Wink
  • Amoro, yeah, sadly I need to have it protected at a high enough dollar value so that if the whole container goes overboard I can at least afford to re-place it all in OZ

I have a set of silver serving bowls from my grandmother, that I just looked up on line.  If I had know the value of those BEFORE they were packed, I would have hand carried them.

  • Good morning lovelies!

I haven't been on line very much this week and I've missed you. I'm kind of bummed at some of the threads I missed.

Alexia, I agree with Stackeye. Although if, beyond this week, you're generally not getting enough feedback you should say something (but maybe wait 'til your boss is in a better mood). I never mind it when the people that work for me ask for feedback, you can indicate that in writing or orally is fine, you just need a little bit of guidance to make sure your performance is OK,

Aggie, that dirt cake looks nasty. I'm not sure if I could eat it.
  • WOW - ac, you're almost 37 weeks pregnant.  I swear you just posted like a month ago that you were expecting.  Time is FLYING by.
  • Thanks gals.  You're probably right.

It stems from yesterday being Admin Day and he didn't acknowledge me or the other girl on my side of the office.  He gave the other admin a HUGE bouquet of flowers.  I don' t know if I should be insulted or if I should just be happy he doesn't think of me as an admin anymore. KWIM?  Blech.

Our office has two sides.  We have one main entrance, but literally two sides that are connected through a hallway in the back.  He almost never comes over to "my" side anymore.

I might just be paranoid.  I'll let it go this week and see how Monday starts off.

YAY for baby AC!  Did you guys decide on a name or are you waiting to know the sex or is this one of those annoying questions people ask pregnant women? I can't remember... sorry!
  • Alexia maybe he talked previously with the guy that took you out to lunch and split up the people they would do things for.  (someone took you out to lunch yesterday right?  maybe i'm just making that up).
  • We haven't decided a name yet...Victor and Dominic are my favorites, but I think we'll have to wait 'til we get to the delivery room to decide.

Last week I was nervous b/c my belly was measuring small (with a tape measure) at the docs, but they did an ultrasound yesterday and he looks great...lots of fluid and he's head-down and they estimated him to be 6 lbs 11 oz right now (60th percentile). If he came on my due date he'd probably be a little over 8, which is just above average.

So all baby systems are go...yay!!!

    See, outside perspectives help.

You're correct.  We were all taken to lunch.

Alexia paranoia over. (for now!)  ;)

That is so so so awesome.  Congratulations. :)

T&P for a healthy baby ac!

And I think you already know my vote for the baby name.  Dominic is my first choice for a boy.

Great names AC.  I can't wait to see pictures!  .
  • I agree with Stacks.  I also don't think I'd be too upset about a made-up holiday, my entire team I suppose is admin in a way, and I didn't even know it was 'admin day' yesterday.

  • Yeah, I agree the predictions are crap.

But it's nice to have some solidly average measurements Smile...I can rest easier with a lower risk of him being overly big or overly small, since they both have complications.
  • Hey y'all!  I'm excited because FI and his parents all but emptied our storage unit yesterday without me (since I'm the only one who has to work, haha) so we only have to pack the rest of our stuff at my grandparents' house which isn't too too bad.

We also booked the photographer we met with last night and I feel so much better about that than having a friend do it.

Sorry you're having a bad week, Alexia :(  Hopefully you can recharge this weekend and get back on track.  Just keep away from Robert, don't get sick!  I agree with what everyone else said about your boss.

I'm actually having a nice day at work, but I guess I've only been here an hour.  We leave for my bachelorette party tomorrow, so I'm excited about that!

  • Good morning....

Amoro - You will like this.

We just receieved an invite for a wedding in 16 days.  So yes we were B listed.  Anyway they have a honeymoon registry.  DH thinks is awesome and wants us to do that for our gift.  I'm not happy, but we give cash normally anway, so not really a big deal.  So I'm going through the registry the have dinners, activities, etc.

One thing that stuck out was GRATUITIES....   wft?   Why would someone want to give a gift of gratuties?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Is it morning? I had terrible insomnia last night, and ended up getting less than five full hours of sleep. I am exhausted, and I feel awful. Great way to start the day.

I had a huge fight with a fellow grad student yesterday. It's been brewing for a long time, since she is kind of the school bully and I've been pretty open about resisting that, but yesterday she picked a fight with me in front of one of my students, and that just went too far. So I'm hoping the resolution of this thing is that we have a conversation where I can tell her that she really needs to tone down the way she behaves. We'll see what happens.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Thanks everyone!

Pirata, yeah one wall in the bedroom and then one long wall in the great room are both painted this rust red color.  We were too lazy to repaint so we decided to decorate the bedroom around that color.

  • dani, all the walls in the house we're renting were crappy pastel colors.  The living room was pale green, we redid in "Roasted Red Pepper", the kitchen was pale yellow, we did in Yellow Gold, and the bedroom was light blue & light green, we redid main color cream and the green we chose was "grape leaves".  Matches one of the greens in our comforter set.  When we do shades, we'd probably go with a green like you did. We wanted a relaxing earthy feel to the bedroom. But love the warm red in the LR. I can't rememer if we are FB friends...if so I have an album in my photos with some before & after pics!

  • Lynda, that's crazy.  GRATUITIES?!   Fuckinga.  People think lot's of stuff is cool.  And being B-listed?  Um, no.  Would not be attending or sending a gift.

Pirata, the best thing is that we have to pack or unpack not a thing, but he still needs to get rid of shiz.  I haven't seen him wear some of these clothes since... welll.... ever.
  • Morning ladies! Today we are at home and J is finally sleeping. I changed his bandages this morning and his surgery wound is healing rather nicely! Thank you all for the well wishes both here and on FB!

That dirt cake looks yum! Dani, your room looks rad! Alexia, I wouldn't worry about it too much, like PPs said. aMrs - container shipping is ridic (dealt with it a lot at my old job). Pirata, how exciting about the move! Did you get your package yet?
