F/U to my FB post last night.

This was bound to happen--but, I just had to share.

After I de-friended the friend request I got last night for his awful grammar (I just didn't want to see hourly status updates that were never spelled correctly)---he has "re-friended" me again.

This is what was included in his message:

"Jay says, "I dont know why but it said i had to requist you again IDK.""

Requist away, Jay. I'll just keep declining.

  • Dude, if I can beyond the shadow of a doubt tell that someone has defriended me (I guess he can't tell, but I would jump to that conclusion) the last thing I'm doing is adding them back with a note. I think it's kinda like asking "hey, where's my wedding invitation?" Take a hint.

Cut him some slack.  fb doesn't have spellcheck.  jeez. ;p
  • My FB has a little dotted line under misspelled words. It doesn't give you the correct spelling, but it points out errors.

  • just leave him in limbo by not ignoring or confirming.  Then he will not be able to resend the 'requist'.  The bad news it will sit there in your request box.  But I find that less annoying then people resending the same request over and over again.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • You could always accept the request and then hide him from your news feed so you don't have to see any of his updates. I've done that to some people who post statuses every minute and rape my facebook.

This, I fear, will end up being my only option. From the looks of his profile last night, he's still new to the FB game; I doubt he understands that I've de-friended him.
