    Hmmmm I don't remember.
My friend gave up Facebook for Lent last year though.

    Personally I don't like being a quitter. :)

I remember a couple of people on my club board attempting this.  None of them succeeded.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

    I'm with you, Salt.

I think you're supposed to give up stuff for God and junk to remind you of sacrifice and deprivation, but I feel like a lot of people (NOT ALL, mind you) give up things to make themselves look better, feel better, improve their own lives, which I think is GREAT, but why do we need lent to do that?

She was from Colorado, wasn't she? I remember her sig picture too, it was her and her H under her veil, and I don't think she ever came back after she gave up knotting for lent

    Thanks Dani!!

TeamBear was one. She came back and posted a couple of times about how this made her life SO much better, and I'm pretty sure we told her that if giving up knotting made THAT much difference in her life than maybe she shouldn't come back.

And I haven't seen her since.

Yeah that's what my friend is doing.  She's not even a practicing anything, doesn't go to church or anything, and she's giving up cheese for Lent.  As part of her getting back in shape routine really.  I mean, more power to her and I'll encourage her, but what's the point?  Just give up cheese if it's really your downfall.

I don't know.  Time without knotting can be sacrifice and deprivation for some people.  Personally, I went through a case of knot withdrawl with the changeover, because I couldn't access it well for about 3 weeks.  Of course, that was probably a good thing, since I didn't really have time to knot when I was home with the baby.  Now that I'm back at work though, it's a whole different story :)

I'm not JUDGING!!  but I know what you're talking about, Nick and I actually had a conversation about that last night.  Someone he works with was like "I'm going to watch what I eat for lent".  Okay?  That's some sacrifice there buddy.
