I am getting married in the spring and my fiance and I have decided to not invite children to the wedding. We are also paying for the wedding entirely. My aunt (which is my godmother) told me that she "needs her kids at my wedding." I have also been informed that she will not come if her kids are not at the wedding. My aunt's children are 6 and 9 and not well behaved, even though the parents think they are the best behaved little angels.
My aunt and I used to have a great relationship when I was younger and she basically thinks I owe her back for the things she has done for me. But in the end my fiance and I just would like to have this be an adult-only affair.
Any suggestions on how to handle? Is it wrong to not want any children at the wedding, even though they are immediate family? Thanks!
