Wedding Thank Yous

Hi

I need a litle help.  I am siiting here writing our our thank you cards.  How does this sound to write a thank you to those that did not give us anything.

"Thank you for sharing our wedding day with us."

I am kind of stuck.  It was easier with the thank you cards for those who got us something, since I could reference what they got us in the card.

Thank you!!!

You don't need to write a thank you note to someone who attended but did not give a gift. The reception was the thank you for attending.

</div><div>Thanks!  I wasn't sure.  I even had some people that showed up with extra people and kids and didn't bring anything,  We even had an open bar. But they sure ate and drank. </div>
  • If it was someone you WANTED to acknowledge for attending (maybe they traveled a long distance), then by all means, say something like "it was really nice to see you, thanks for traveling such a great distance, great great Aunt Edna!"

but in reality if someone traveled a great distance, they probably had a relationship with you that would have involved a gift.

  • I wouldn't thank people for attending, bringing extra people and not bringing a gift.

What PP said, the reason I wouldn't send it is because it's a rather awkward note unless you have something specifically in mind to thank them for (like did one of the readings) or over and above (fixed a hem 15 minutes before the wedding started).
  • Thank you all.  i was at a loss for words on this one. I just couldn't believe some people.  The one girl that brought  few extra people and her kids, left her daughter's dirty pull up on the floor under the table.  It was gross.  I just can't believe people.
  • Surprised

    Wow.

That's an even better thank you note than I was even imagining.

</div><div>When I told my husband about what I found that night he said he won't even be talking to her anymore.  That is nasty.  I told him it is and he should have said something to her.  </div>
  • Thank you notes for gifts exist so that the giver knows a) that you received the item and b) that you appreciate the gift.

    This.

If you REALLY wanna thank people for coming...what you wrote is fine. But it's not necessary by any means. ESPECIALLY not the nasty trash that invited themselves.
  • Thank you all.  My husband wants to send to everyone.  I handles almost all of them. I told him he could send out the ones to the nasty friends he invited.  I am beyond disappointed in how some people are.  I had a nice elegant wedding and hopefully no one noticed too much.
