PIP- Mom's dress from '77

I went to my parent's this weekend and tried on my Mom's dress from her 1977 wedding to my Dad. Her sister made the dress and they're still married. She was very happy to see me in it for 5 minutes.

  • That's pretty! I used to try on my mom's wedding dress when I was smaller and it fit me (just for fun), but my parent's aren't still together so it didn't mean quite as much. Plus she never even got it cleaned after the wedding so it has spots all over it :)

  • Aww, cute. My moms wedding dress was a cream colored silk short shift dress with a pink long, long sleeved jacket to go over it. They were broke when they got married and I was already 2
  • I like it too---minus the sleves :)

    And Shelly? Hot.

  • wow cuffed sleeves. pretty amazing.
i'd never fit into my mom's blue wedding dress from the 80's or my sisters peach bm dress from the same wedding.

  • thanks Rach :)

Its actually me making fun of something, but then we snazzied it up, and I thought...hmm, myspacey.

  • That is quite similar to my mothers, which I have tried numerous times. :)
  • Minus the sleeves I like it.

Trying on my mother's dress would be impossible.  First I'm 8 inches taller than my mom.   Second.. It's been turned into a christening dress and suit.  So now the dress is really too small.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I wore my mom's dress to her 40th anniversary renewal.  (redhead in blue to the camera left of the happy couple).

    Now with more wedded bliss.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.
