  • I bribe my FI with Star Wars memorabilia. Maybe if your BF has a fav show or something you could bribe him with a cool new toy.

    Yes, I am marrying a 7 year old in a man's body.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: uhmmm TK ate a days worth of posts : I'm not actually sure when I last went to the doctor for it... it was sometime in early 2011, hopefully sometime before April. I'll look into it and apply. It looks like there are some guarenteed enrollment options, so I'm looking at them to see if any of them are affordable while giving me the coverage I need.

<div>In the meantime - do you know if your prescription comes in a generic form? My entire family is uninsured and I believe all of their prescriptions are $4 - $9 per month. Maybe you can have it switched just until you get your insurance figured out.</div>

It may come to that. My BF is a lot like your FI.

Or, I'll just pay for the movers from my checking account so he really has no say in the matter. It's not like we share the account or anything.

I'm starting to think it's less about the money and more about some checkbox on his Man Card. I think you get +50 points for carrying a recliner up two flights of stairs.

It does, but for some reason, the generic doesn't work for me, I actually just switched back to the name brand. Hopefully I'll get something figured out... Hopefully FI will get a job with benefits after the bar exam and then as of January, I'd be on his insurance... But 8 months is too long to go without anything.

  • No, poke, you most certainly are not. So frivolous.

<div>No, I've never heard any of the guys around me use it. They do occasionally ask me to give him his balls back if FI didn't go out with them or something. Which I still think is stupid, but whatever. </div>

Hate the term itself or hate the idea of it? BF never pulls that line; I just can't think of another way to describe him being all butt-hurt about movers.

To be fair to BF, he's not a machismo at all. He really wants a pair of footie pajamas, and nothing makes him happier than playing computer games while eating ice cream. I've even seen him cry on occasion.

Other than the coveting of footie pajamas, sounds like my FI. Also, it's really fun to picture a guy wearing footie pajamas while eating ice cream, playing computer games, and crying all in one.

It's a mental scorecard, of sorts. You hear it referenced a lot in beer commercials. Guys can "lose points" on their man card if they do something that isn't manly, like crying, hugging a stuffed animal, seeing a sappy movie, etc.

    Yeah. Pretty stupid.

That is stupid. Good thing FI isn't the kind of guy who would care about crap like that.

Sorry, I had to take Demandor out for a walk.

Well, with the Italian break in the afternoon, it took about 4 hours all told. But that was for only a 400sq ft apartment. They wrapped every piece of silverware and glass and dish separately and packed it really well. It would have taken us a lot longer to do it ourselves because H is lazy. hahah!!

<div>Ah, the afternoon break. I wish the U.S. did this. I took classes in Spain and felt a lot more productive in the evenings after the siesta. </div>

What is the afternoon break? It sounds like a time where I could nap, which would be pretty cool.

  • Angel, that's pretty much exactly what is it. They eat a late lunch, usually around 2, and all the stores close in the afternoon and everyone goes home to eat lunch and take a nap. It's awesome.
  • Speaking of work, I need to get back to it. Lunch is over. :(
  • We should totally have that in the US... I bet people would be generally happier if they got a nice break in the middle of the day.

<div>This - haha. People are always so freaking cranky when I'm out in the evening.</div>
  • It looks like people are logging off... does this mean I'm going to have to go be productive for once?

  • So, guess who found a leak in the office when tearing out the carpet today!

    Wheee!

The plumber is saying it looks like it's dripping down from the unit above and that the entire wall of the office is full of mold.

Guess who is highly allergic to mold!  At least I know now why my allergies have been so bad this Spring...

    Best. Day. Ever.

    -_-
  • Uggh that sucks Muni.  I went on a cleaning spree today and discovered a loaf of moldy bread in the kitchen that I didn't realize was there.  Oops!  In the midst of my cleaning I decided to take some things (mostly dvds) back to my storage unit and pick up some new ones.  In the process of moving a bin so that I could get to the box with the dvds I miscalculated how much room I had left to walk along the dresser and slipped off the edge and slammed my leg into the tv on the way to the cement floor of the storage unit.  I can already feel the bruise forming.
