In need of Adopt a Family advice

Hi ladies... I have not been on the knot in ages but am in need of advice! This is also not wedding related but I know this board gets a lot of traffic!

My family adopted a family this year and I need to buy toys for the two little girls. They are 7 and 9.... and thats all I know! All they said was they wanted "toys" anyone have advice? We have a pretty small budget due to many factors (maybe $25 or so per child?)

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I am also going to cross post because I need to order it by tonight!

  • I think it's great you're adopting a family for the holidays! Perhaps something for each but something that would allow them to play together. I.e.  board game or a doll for each? Target had some great sales - five dollar board games, a lot of variety for the 10 - 20 range. Good Luck and happy holidays!

As a teacher, books are always a great idea IMO. Any educational board games, arts and crafts sets are also great ideas.

And kudos to you for doing such a wonderful thing. God Bless!
  • Pajamas. Cute, soft, sweet pajamas with a book like Twas the night before Christmas.

  • I think we might end up with

    Monopoly
    Make your own book kit
    Make your own light kit
    Crayons and Paper

  • They have already been bought many, many clothes by the rest of the family... They are super cute clothes/PJ's too!!!

Books, Movies, craft kits, cute school supplies (I loved Lisa Frank when I was that age)

  • Elf is a cute Christmas story and something they can do every year. We are doing it right now with the kids in our class and they get a kick out of it ever day. Not that it really helps when we tell them that he is going to report their behavior to Santa...lol.
  • I agree with PP- something on the educational side.
    Anniversary
  • Books!
    Socks
    Colouring books and crayons

Then I'd do a gift for both of them to "share".  A board game is a good one, but monopoly is a common game.  I might do something different... like Life or something.
