  • Fingers crossed for a good interview, MK!  You're going to rock it.

  • Morning!

So excited.  I have my snowboard in my car, a fresh foot of snow and more on the way and only 8 hours separating me and the hill.  Bring it on!

A - You might have bruised your heel.  If you're going to be serious about running, you need to be fit for a real pair of running shoes, but I would suggest a pair of trainers.  They will teach you the proper way to run and where to land on your foot.  You shouldn't be landing on your heel at all.  You should actually be landing on the back of the ball of your foot, right where you shouldn't have a stirrup iron ;).  If that makes sense.

  • Adamar my dad has issues with his heel. His doc recommended wearing those adidas sandals with the nubs on the bottom when he's walking around the house. They've really helped.

I would definitely invest in a better pair of running shoes as well.

  • Morning!

I'm glad your bosses were understanding and are working with you Sesh.

    Good luck MK!

    Have fun snow boarding Habs!
  • Now I really wish I had bought the groupon for the good running store.  Damn you, H!

  • I would definitely go to a good running store to have them fit you in a pair of shoes that are right for your feet. You don't have to buy them from there, but you'll know the style number you need. Then you can find the best place to buy them from. I buy mine from Diick's but I was fitted with my physical therapist and at a running store first.

  • Maybe I'll take some of my bonus and use it for good shoes.  That way I won't feel so boring by sticking it all in savings.  Thanks for the tips guys!

  • Morning all.

Adamar, I don't run, but I would definitely second what MK said about getting fitted.  All my running/triathlon friends say it's worth getting fitted.  If you have stores that make you buy to get fitted, it's worth the extra money to not end up injured.

    MK, good luck!

Froggie, hope you're totally better this morning.

Habs, have fun snowboarding!  Jealous you've actually got snow.

    Happy Thursday everyone.

Thanks ladies! I have to print off some resumes which means I have to go get some black ink. Lucas has just informed me it's almost out.

  • Good luck MK! I'm sure you'll do wonderfully!

Adamar, my mom has PF and the gym shoes she wears make all the difference in the world. She also has some inserts for her dress shoes that really help a lot.

Thank you for saying inserts Midge. I have to buy some gels for the shoes I want to wear tomorrow.

  • Good Morning Ladies!

Adamar, I've been having heel pain too - certainly not because of running though lol - I think I might have a bone spur or something. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Bay where are you going to school? How was the first day?
  • BJ, I go to CCSU.  I didn't go there for undergrad (I went to Salve Regina in Rhode Island), but I started the MA program in 2007, went to school until winter semester 2008, and then took a LOA for medical reasons.  First day was great.  I love my teacher for my first class, he reminds me of my favorite professor from my undergrad days, and I'm really looking forward to that class.  Tonight is my only other class, and it's with my adviser (whom I also love), so I'm hoping this is going to be a great semester.

  • Morning, and good luck tomorrow MK!

I'm annoyed at my upstairs neighbor, in addition to having a whiney dog they are the loudest walkers ever. They have woken us up early every day this week. I swear they were stomping around before 5am today and hadn't stopped by the time left at 8. I don't know WTF requires a person to walk around their whole apartment continuously for over 3 hours, but whatever it is, they're doing it every morning.
  • Good morning ladies (hah I felt like Chamrin for a second)

Good Luck MK you will do awesome :D

I am at work today since everyone gave me shiit for taking yesterday off. I would rather be at home with FI but someone needs to bring home the bacon :P Poor guy has not been able to go to work since last Friday b/c of weather I think he is getting cabin fever...

I wonder if they have a workout video going or something like that?  Maybe some step aerobics? (do people still do that?)

<div>For three hours?!?! It doesn't sound rhythmic at all either, just like someone pacing the hallways or something. I'm probably going to call the landlord and complain, even though I know there probably isn't anything they can do about it. And I'm now scared that the people below us hate us just as much. At least we don't start at 5 though.</div>
  • I think they still do Habs. It's on the Wii Fit for sure.
  • That's annoying Anna.  Can you talk to them about it?  I've never lived in an apartment, so I don't know if that would cause more issues than it would fix.

  • Hah I did step aerobics! Maybe they are playing something like Wii Fitness or whatever the equivalent is for xbox and PS3?

I would talk with the manager since I am sure you guys have quiet hours, right?

  • Personally I love step aerobics on the WiiFit.

I don't do it at 5 AM though, that's just obnoxious.

  • My upstairs neighbor was hammering something at 6:30 this morning.
  • When I lived in my apartment (intentionally top floor so I wouldn't have to hear upstairs neighbors' feet), I would not exercise before 9am or after 8pm out of consideration of my downstairs neighbors.  I think it's totally reasonable to talk with neighbors who wake you up at crazy hours.
  • Wtf, Aleigh.  That's completely unnecessary.

Nothing needs hammering at 6:30 AM  (and that sounded wrong even when I typed it).

  • In my last apartment in LA, we had an upstairs neighbor who went through a period of doing some sort of reconstruction/redecorating.  Hammering was going on from 7pm until 1am nightly for a two week stretch.  It would start up again at 8am and go on until I was gone to work.  I'd say that it was other activity, but that would be impressive stamina, and I just didn't see that as a possibility.
