Congrats Mica!! I've been in meetings for the past hour or 2? Geez, I can't even remember, so HI EVERYONE. We did a first look and it was so much fun to be just the two of us, photographer in the background... H was able to say things that he wouldn't have in front of others. Plus, we got some really amazing photos.

That is a big thing that happened for us too. It was so adorable hearing J say such sweet things when he turned around.

• YAY, Mica! I'm so happy for you!

• Is your FI just really traditional, Rach? Because J said that even though we had just spent 3 hours taking photos, he still got all shaky and teared up when I walked down the aisle.
image
• We didn't do a first look. H didn't want to. In retrospect, I sort of wish we could have, although I admit the feeling I had walking down the aisle with H's happy face was pretty darned priceless.

This is the front of the house.

• My H is really traditional too but luckily I talked him out of almost everything.

I guess one more thing I should say about us not having a first look is that my uncle was my photographer so I probably wouldn't have felt ok getting really mushy or emotional in front of him anyway.
In Response to Re: Good morning. : Yea - he wants all the traditional stuff. Garter toss included, much to my dismay.

Same with mine.

Hello everyone!

Yay Mica! That is so exciting. Congratulations.

Rachers, we didn't do a first look. I'm glad we didn't. We almost did but changed our minds last minute. H cried like a baby when he looked at me for the first time so I'm personally glad I waited. We spent the whole morning together before the wedding too so that was our personal time together. I think first looks are awesome though and I love the pictures.

• Ohh garter toss eh? We didn't do that, but mainly because I feel weird about it. I'm sure J wouldn't have minded, hah.

Mica that is an adorable house!

• That house looks beautiful Mica! I love the balcony on the second floor. At least I assume it's a balcony.
I wish we would have done the first look, only for the fact that I would have had more pictures of just J and I.

This exactly. I wanted one all along since I've seen some fabulous ones, but H didn't want to do it.

CONGRATULATIONS Mica!

• Beautiful house Mica!

Rachers, has he picked the song he wants for the garter toss yet? Mine picked the Mission Impossible theme song.
• Yup, that's a second floor balcony. There's a view of the bay from it.

The house isn't actually light yellow, it's more peach (I don't really like the color). Repainting is on the to-do list.
• Ha. Midge, That is funny. Very good pick.

• We didn't do the bouquet toss either. I don't like them much but my bouquet also weighed about 3-5 pounds so that would've been a bit dangerous.
In Response to Re: Good morning. : HA! That's really cute Midge. I don't think he even knows to pick a song for it. We're having a band so maybe I'll need to clue them in on my plan to sabotage the garter toss.
Posted by rachers1017
Sabotaging could be quite fun. There are all kinds of things you could have them do.
• The house is cute, Mica!

That was the most painful meeting of my life. I don't think I've ever heard more idiotic questions. I really wanted to poke holes in my eardrums.

• I'm thinking gray, but who knows. Now I can finally spend time trolling different paint websites to figure out color combinations, no more restraining myself and trying to keep my hopes down. :)
• So all of this talk about tosses reminded me of the picture from a wedding I was at last year. Remember the drunk midge story? Well this was that wedding. I promise I'm not normally this into the tosses but I think the photographer requested that we make this a good picture and I went for the gold.

• Awesome picture, Midge.

I didn't do a toss. There were almost no single women at my wedding.
• That's awesome Midge.

• There were lots of single women at my wedding but I didn't want to ruin my bouquet or cause a potential concussion lol.

That picture is amazing, Midge. I don't think I've heard the drunken Midge story. I am curious.

I'm nervous for H. He had a job interview last week and then he went back for a typing test. This afternoon he has a second interview. How many times does he have to go back before they hire him? He really wants this job. If they don't hire him he will be so disappointed.

• Morning.

I had a separate toss bouquet. It was significantly smaller than my ridiculously heavy bouquet.

We had a fair amount of single women who expressed interest in the toss, so I did it. However, MIL and BIL's then-fiancee insisted on participating, and MIL knocked my MOH aside after elbowing her in the ribs. Before the toss, MIL was told by her sisters to sit her ass down, but obviously didn't listen.
Hi peeps! I've been busy at work, I miss having downtime. What's new around here?

Abbalish, how was your trip to Chicago? What did you do?
• I'm both amazed and terrified by your MIL stories, Special.

• Special, that is kind of silly that your SIL insisted on participating. I mean, I know she is kinda BSC, but she wasn't even single and was already planning a wedding. lol.

• He did okay on the typing test. He practiced a lot but only had the weekend to work on it. The good thing is he only had two errors. They care more about it being correct than speed when you are just starting out so that is good. Apparently, everyone sucks at first. He won't be typing a lot anyway. The woman really liked him a lot so that is good.
