A while ago. It got SO weird. It was just insanity.

Yeah, I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of letting me go AND seeing me cry about it.

</div><div>I can't swim.  Like I can I guess, but it's not pretty.  I suppose I should practice that if I want to be an awesome Tri-athlete :D </div>

    Whoops double post.

Jill even if your old ortho doesn't specialize in feet, maybe she can recommend someone to do physical therapy with. Also, I love love love swimming. It's one of the best cardio exercises you can do.

I was a swimmer in high school and the cross country boys would come in and do aqua jogging in the diving well sometimes.  They all wore floaty belts.

Jill, definitely don't think worst case scenario. Your doctor seems not very helpful. I'm sure it will all work out. *hugs to the sad ladies*

I don't know that I would have made it the 20 seconds either, MK.

And whoever said Farrah ugly cries- that's an understatement. Good grief that's not a pretty sight.  (I say this as someone who also ugly cries, but never so publicly).

    Acknowledging!

They do have a PT practice associated with the ortho practice. I did do some work with them in preparation for running. I think I'm gonna go back there. I love that doc.

Swimming...I dunno. I'd have to join an expensive gym to get access to a pool. I just quit that gym last year. I hate it. Also, I have some pretty serious hair issues these days and I can only imagine swimming would make it worse. Plus all the leg hair maintenance...blah. Last resort.

I'm a crier and I feel like I am too sensitive. I cry when I get super mad. I think it is because I have learned to hold in my yelling, but it tends to result in angry, hot tears. I hate it.

daff, I did/do some aqua running, it is good exercise, especially before and after my knee surgery when they wouldn't let me do anything else.  Our local Y has a nice pool.  Can you check with the local high schools, many have open swims.  Sometimes, you can even to swimming at a hotel pool if they have a fitness center.

Beyond all, do not give up.  WE can do this and get our butts back out there.

On a happy note, I managed to get out of my chair and drag myself to the store.  My daughter is coming home from college for the weekend to watch Helmut (golden ret) for the weekend while we go to a weekend event in the 1000 Islands.  I think she just misses home, but I do not mind.  I got all of her favorite foods.

[QUOTE]I was actually in shock when he fired me, lord knows why.  He was such a jerk. So I didn't cry until the next day.

I was in shock too, but I don't remember ever actually crying (probably because I knew it was a job I didn't want to stay in long-term).  Had I not had my sister & her friends to distract me, I probably would have had a complete meltdown.

ETA: I couldn't sleep for three or four days after and my stomach was in so many knots I could hardly eat a thing.  It was not a fun time.  I nursed a bottle of ginger ale for like three days straight.

<div>Ugh that sucks, I only have "semi" access because of the school gym, which was NEVER open, and conveniently when <em>I</em> was injured, was shut down for maintenance. </div><div>
</div><div>I would definitely consider it even if it's only for a few months so when you can run again, you won't have lost fitness and will feel stronger. </div><div>
    </div><div>What leg hair maintenance? I haven't shaved in a month.  </div>

Maybe the universe is telling you to play more guitar. :) I think I read you play guitar, right? I think that's really cool.

I have been focusing on my bass the last couple of nights.
  • Options
That's even cooler. How long have you been playing?

With H gone, my leg hair maintenance is minimal.  Like every week and a half or so I get so I can't stand myself.  I do the bikini and pits more often though.

Since October, I think? I lost a good month of practicing in there with the business of the holidays combined with general slackitude. But I'm getting better at being able to improvise. I have a good ear, which is a real plus that I can build on.

    Hi Ladies.

I just got home from work.  DH wore Chef-D out so he is passed out.   Boo, no snuggle time tonight I guess.

Off to read the rest of the thread.
