That happens where I work sometimes too.  My only advice is to take TOTAL advantage!

CS, I worked for the County and we had that problem too.  We got around it by actually using Facebook for work.  Sneaky, we were.

People need to stop using that emoticon. It makes me sad every time I see it.

I need work to block me from facebook. I'm not mature enough to engage in any kind of self-discipline at the office.

I hate my firewall at work!  I'm friends with some people next door and they have wireless interent - no password.  When I'm feeling frisky, I disconnect from our network and tap into next door's internet and then have a field day with all my favorite websites!

Same here, but since they laid off almost the whole IT department, I think they have better things to do than track my internet use. Plus, everywhere I've worked turns a blind eye to occassional facebook check-ins, etc, as long as you're doing your actual work. Which makes sense, to me.
