Invitation Wording

Help please!

My parents are "hosting" the wedding but we would like to include my fiances parents on the invite so we were going to use the "son of" wording.  I have gotten so many conflicting answers on how this should be worded since his parents are divorced and his mom is remarried but dad has not.  I am thinking it should read:

Joe Smith
Son of Mrs. Anne Lee
Mr. Jay Smith

Is this right?  Or should her name read Mrs. New husbands first name Lee.  Is it correct to have them on seperate lines without an "and"?

If anyone can help I would be appreciative!!

Re: Invitation Wording

  • Yup that's it!  Be prepared - a couple people might think they are being helpful by pointing out what they think is a typo on your professionally made and paid for invitations, but you are right.  :)

  • yes, that is correct.
id probably put "Son of" on its own line, tho, then each of the parents on their own line.  while its usually ladies first, tho, i wonder if in this instance his dad should be listed first.....
