Well the weather was right for our hot air balloon ride on Saturday!! Chris and I got to help with the set-up which was cool. That basket was SO much smaller than we all anticipated, and the balloon was so much bigger than I anticipated! I was totally calm and not scared at all, until we actually started lifting off of the ground. Then my heart raced a bit and I felt my anxiety kick in, but I held on to Chris and the basket and just tried to take it all in. You are really just floating up in the sky with nothing under you or around you, except the basket. It's a very surreal feeling. The ride was beautiful!! We saw deer running in the fields, cows, horses, waved to kids out playing in their yards, saw farmers making hay, lots of trees. We landed in the Oliver vineyards, Oliver Winery is a very popular winery near where we were. That was my favorite part I think, landing in the vineyards at sunset. It was beautiful. It's tradition to have champagne with or on balloon rides, so they brought out a bottle after we landed and we all toasted. So great time had by all!
