"favour" vs "favor"...help!

So I am printing off my rsvp cards and I am now second guessing using the word "favour".  Can someone enlighten me on which spelling is correct?  I have a formal wedding and I live in the USA.   Thanks for your help!

I would say if it's formal (or if you live in a country where favour is spelled that way) then stick with that spelling.

  • favourIt does imply formalityCheck Crane's for wording it you're concerned
  • whew... thank you.   I found this: If you use "honour" on the invite you should use "favour" on the reply card.   It is for formal weddings. Ok... hitting "print" and continuing on.   :) And I wonder why the invites have taken so much time.
  • technically they are both right - favour is the british spelling but it does imply formality. If you have used 'honour' on your invites you should use 'favour' on your RSVP cards
