ABC News' "What Would You Do?"

Has anyone seen this show? It was on a few months ago and DH and I enjoyed watching it. It's amazing what some bystanders will and will not do in certain situations. If you are bored or have time to kill, here's the website. Take a look at some videos. http://abcnews.go.com/WhatWouldYouDo/

  • I think that's a really interesting show! Is it not on anymore? I haven't seen it in a while, but I don't watch a lot of TV either.

I can't say I would step in for everything either (say, if there was a physical fight going on) but if someone is being harassed or humiliated for no good reason then I would say something. That stuff makes my blood boil.

  • I haven't seen the show, but I was in a situation once were my BFF and I were in a restaurant and her abusive ex-boyfriend tracked her down there and came inside and started yelling at her and throwing ketchup bottles and chairs at us. Not one person did a thing. I know the staff called the cops, but no one came to help. Plus the people sitting next to us just got up and moved to another table. I was so surprised...

Whit - I haven't seen it on in a while. Nelson and I used to look forward to it. I'm hoping that they bring it back.

  • Yeah, I guess there is always a new crop of shows on in the summer, so maybe it will happen for the fall line-up.

Milkygal - That's so awful! I just told DH that story and he shook his head. He'd be the first one to tackle the guy to the ground. Things like that anger him so much.

  • I haven't seen the show (obviously!) but the bystander effect is very well documented/researched in psychology.
