I know this might sound silly but do I....

I am looking to buy a stamp for my thank you cards

Mr. & Mrs. Doe (my least favorite) ,
John & Jane Doe... or  Jane & John Doe!!

Thanks for the help!

    Mr. & Mrs. John Doe

    or

    John and Jane Doe

How formal do you want to be?

  • Not really too formal ... I would rather jst use our name but think that I should use our last name ... I haven't even changed it ... I am planning on keeping my maiden name and using    - Doe :)

No, it's Jane and Joe Doe

    or

    Mr. and Mrs. John Doe

seperating a man's name from his surname is incorrect, otherwise, it's ladies first.

  •  I like that that  it shoudl be ladies first ! thanks!
  • i agree with OOT, but if you are using a hyphenated last name then mrs. jesse is also correct.

  • Ditto PPs.. this is your opportunity to tell people how you want to be called.. your guests aren't wrong to assume you took his last name (since this is the most common option).  If you write it wrong now... you may always have it wrong in the future.

However.. if you are fine with people writing "Mr. & Mrs. John Doe" for the two of you in the future.. then I see no issue.  There are a lot of reasons to keep your original name (ie. you are known in your profession by your maiden name)- that have nothing to do with not wanting to take on your husband's name.  If this is the case for you.. then it doesn't matter as much and you can write it which ever way you prefer.

If you want people to address you with your maiden name.. make sure you use this as your opportunity to make sure they know.
  •  Pharmacy Bride ... that is exactly my situation ... I don't care if they address me as Mrs. so and so .. but am planing on having my maiden and his last name!

    thanks!
