Self discoveries.

Does anyone else just realize something about yourself that is kind of annoying but you never realized you did it before? If you do notice something, do you try to stop it? Some things I've discovered about myself in the past few weeks or so: I use emoticons way too much. I say the phrase "I mean, right?" waay too often. I thought I had more, but anyway does anyone else do this?

  • I mean I'm also really loud and talk an awful lot, but those aren't things I would try to change, I just mean weird little habits that I never noticed before.

  • I've become a negative Nancy at work and a raving biitch to FI. I'm working on both of those. I have convinced myself it's PMS, but I know in my heart it's not.
  • I was serious. I've realized a lot of stuff about myself since living with Buddy, and "fuucking obnoxious" sums it up.

  • I found out this weekend that I apparently look and sound like I'm about 16, especially on film.  I'm actually 23.  Fan-freaking-tastic.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I also ask scott to do a lot of things for me that I could totally do for myself. But he enables it, so that makes it his fault. I also divert blame and justify my actions a lot.

  • I swear.  A lot.  I'm trying to clean up my mouth.  I know I sound like an idiot when every other word is an f-bomb.  I can't help it.  It's from working at the firehouse for 3 years.
  • I change my mind about anything and everything on a whim.  Multiple times."Do you want burgers for dinner?""No...yes...well....no.  Actually, yeah."    Yeah, thats not annoying at all.

"Whatever East. You're just mad I RSVP'd "lame" to your pre-wedding sleepover."
  • I can be very self-deprecating.  It works a little if your Kathy Griffin.  Not so much if you're me.
  • haha! Fische! I'm the same way!  I can justify almost anything.

  • My recent example:"We're out of diet soda.""Why didn't you get some at the store yesterday when we were there?""We weren't out of it then.""I'm hungry.""I ASKED you if you wanted food on the way home from the airport.""I wasn't hungry then.""Well, do you want food?""NO I DON'T WANT ANY FOOD.""Feeeed me.""Burgers? Sandwich? Mac and cheese?""No.""Well, what do you want?""I'm not hungry."

  • Ha, I also am very indecisive, particularly in regards to meals, laugh obnoxiously, and I am also apparently really judgy about a lot of our friends who are engaged.  There is only about 1 couple that I actually think should get married, like it's any of my business.

  • I also use the word "just" way too much in text and emails.  Why, I have no idea.  I've been trying to notice it and trim it out.

  • I'm also terribly indecisive when it comes to selecting meals.  I always order the same thing from the places we frequent, and when going to a new place, I can usually only make a choice because the waiter has arrived and everyone else is ready, so I blurt out something on the spot.  I can only pick a restaurant if FI forces me to, otherwise I make him do it.

  • I have a low tollerance for stupidity or what I deem to be stupidity, and it comes across in a very exasperated tone in my voice. There are some people I work with that ive noticed I use this voice to a LOT and I really need to curb that.
  • Less now than in the past. Now that I'm out of the trading room, at least for the time being, I find my language has improved vastly.  I don't consider calling someone a fvcking assassin appropriate anymore.MY use of "umm" isn't common now.  I have no need to stall for time while thinking of a way to rip off another trader
  • Do you ever just notice yourself being annoying and you know you're being annoying, but you can't seem to stop yourself from being annoying? This happens to me.

  • If I'm in a bad mood, I take it out on FI, like picking horrible fights and I say horrible things. I'm apparently at 15 year old.I also say things in a tone that conveys sarcasm even when I'm being completely sincere. I've had this pointed out to me a few times and I don't really know how to fix it because I don't know that I'm doing it.

  • I also interrupt people in mid-sentence when I'm done listening, changing the course of the entire conversation.  I just zone out and think of something more interesting to talk about.Friend: "...and then I told Stephen-"Me: "Did you happen to catch the reunion show of..."Friend: "Um, what?"
  • Do you ever just notice yourself being annoying and you know you're being annoying, but you can't seem to stop yourself from being annoying? YES.  It usually happens when I can't stop talking about something (like our wedding or house), and I know people are sick of it, but I still want to talk about it.  Also, I have a habit of repeating stories, but even when I realize I've already told it, I still want to tell it again. Because clearly they didn't laugh hard enough the first time, so maybe they will this time.

  • I'll jump in to finish someone's sentence if I know what they're about to say but they're searching for the word. I do it to my boss way too much.
  • i talk to myself too much at work. in my cube.
  • Julez, I do that too.
