What's the best food you've had at a wedding?

Re: What's the best food you've had at a wedding?

  • Best was probably the paella with the whole lobster tails at my brother's wedding. Worst? Stale tasting cake and lime green punch in the basement of a Baptist church in Kingstree, SC.
  • I'm hoping mine will be (fantastic local BBQ) I honestly don't remember ever having spectacular food at a wedding.

  • umm.  My sister had some filet of beef carved at your table (along with a veggie dish or salmon).  It was great. Our menu was pretty great if I say so.  Especially the cocktail hours.  We had a raw bar (shrimp, king crab legs, maryland crab claws, clams, mussels, oysters), sushi rolls, Ahi tuna and a bunch of other things.  Our main entree was filet of beef and crab cake. I went to a wedding back in April that had a romen noddle station. It had 4 protiens (shrimp, chicken, beef, tofu) and countless veggies.   Slider station with mahi, veggie burger, chicken or beef.  In addition to the normally toppings of ketchup, onion, etc.  They had grilled pineapple and other fun stuff.

  • Best, pasta course at our wedding. Worst, fried chicken and soda out of 2 liter bottles at my step-sister's several years ago.
  • Best:  Pasta primavera in pesto sauce (at my own wedding, tyvm)Worst:  Rubbery chicken and overcooked noodles in a very bland alfredo sauce.  Bad, bad, bad.
  • I LOVED going to Chinese weddings that were at the restaurants because the food is soooooooooooooo good. The worst was a chicken caesar salad. That was it.
  • oh the worst was my brother's wedding.  His MIL DIY  the meal.

  • best: these freakin amazing pasta rolls at my wedding. worst: wedding where all they served was chicken and mashed potatos with gravy. I don't eat chicken, and hate gravy on my mashed potatos.
  • I have to say that lots of guests commented that ours was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I loved my whole menu but the faves were probably the apricot and cashew stuffed chicken thighs with buerre noisette sauce, and the apple sorbet. The worst was the typical rubbery dry chicken breast. Bah!

  • amazing perogies at my brothers wedding. incredible, people are still talking about those. rubbery tasteless chicken at my mothers second wedding. than again that whole wedding/marriage was a FAIL. lol
  • "I have to say that lots of guests commented that ours was the best wedding food they'd ever had." Ours said that to us, but sadly, I was disappointed. Had they served what we tasted during the trials, it would have been the best in my eyes. The only people who know how much better it could have been was me and H.
  • That sucks buttaflai. We were pretty satisfied, except that running slightly late caused the appetizers to go cold.

  • It was still good - just our little secret! I still love the 100% authentic food better than fusion, so my bias was probably part of it.
  • filet mignon and halibut - it was a combo deal.  There was a polenta appetizer that was yummy as well.  The desert was fantastic too - I think it was an assortment of little bites of cheesecake.
  • Best: Mini grilled cheese sandwiches as part of the cocktail hour at a wedding in VAWorst: A giant portobello mushroom appetizer with mozzarella and a tomato on top.
  • The best (and silliest) was In-N-Out. They had the bus, or whatever that is, show up. But it was a little sad because they couldn't do french fries because it is dangerous to travel with hot oil.If you don't know what In-N-Out is, it's the best burger joint in southern California, but there are some in Arizona and one in Vegas.

  • My friend had a mongolian bbq where you got to build the plate and they would cook it for you. It was awesome and delicious. I also went to an elegant winter wedding that had a delicious filet mignon. All of our guy-friends that that went to that wedding still talk about it.  They also had the best little crab cake appetizers that still make me excited to think about.
  • There used to be In-N-Outs in Florida too! Not only were there burgers awesome, they had great chimichangas!!! I miss it so much :(
  • Worst: stouffers vegtable lasagna and cold fried chickenbest: My wedding (hasnt happened yet, but we tried all the food!) Filet Mignon with mushroom sauce and chicken encrusted with parm cheese with mushrooms and artichokes, served with smoked gouda and dill whipped mashed potatoes and baby asparagus
  • best food i had at a wedding was a filet minon that was cooked perfectly - medium rare the way i like it. it was the best steak i ever had. it was at a big resort down the shore in long branch, nj. forget the name of the place. worst food i ever had was scalloped potatoes that were clearly instant and reheated. dry and fake tasting and generally yucky. that was at a hilton somewhere in PA.
  • Best: Food at my wedding. We are still getting compliments on how great the food was! We had tri-tip with peppercorn sauce, taragon chicken with crispy prosciutto, sweet onion and swiss chard raviolis in carrot nutmeg sauce. I wish I could eat it every day.Worst: the wedding I went to the following weekend after mine. Bagged salad, soggy vegetables, dry chicken. Not even worth it to me.
  • I haven't had food at a wedding that was so bad I remember it yet, so here's hoping it won't be mine that sticks out in the negative. best: the mexican buffet some friends of ours did. The Enchiladas were incredible, and there were TONS of left overs for us to take home, which wa scool!

  • I've only been to a few weddings, like 5-10 BUTBest: EVERYTHING at my wedding (not very modest, but honest!) 4 different killer apps (lamb, seafood nacho -awesomeness, veggies, cheese tarts), salad, wonderful double protein (steak and chicken) with potato puree and asparagus, plus a dessert bar!Worst:  Mediocre BBQ at random DH distant relative's wedding.  Seriously why woudl you have BBQ at a wedding people are all dressed up! (no offense to other knotties, but I don't get it) and Bad BBQ ... not thanks.  We bought something to eat back at the hotel that night!
  • Every single wedding I've been to has been mediocre, various levels of luke warm, plated stuffed chicken and some sort of baked fish.  I'm actually salivating over some of the things you ladies have described!Mine is going to be a buffet of prime rib, chicken with a wine sauce, pasta primavera, baked scrod, and pork roast with an apple/brandy sauce.  Potato veg and salad too.  Nothing fancy, but fall classics.  Hopefully no one will go home hungry!
  • So far I have not really had a BEST and hoping that my wedding will be the best yet.     The worst- a couple got married in Italy and came back to Ca to have the reception, anyway, because they were in Italy they ordered out italian food from the cheapest place I swear....the food Cold floppy pizza, hardly any sauce, rolls hard, baked zitti the worst not even cheese on it....WHOA gross!
