NWR: Question

Alrighty. First post, kinda nervous but need opinions. I have a good school friend who is going through a rough time. She has a father in and out of the hospital, H who is not very supportive, seven year old twins, school work, etc. I am looking to get her a little gift to let her know I'm thinking of her. I have a card, but don't know what to add to it. She doesn't drink coffee, so I wanted to stay away from Starbucks gc, which was my original idea. So, question is, what small gift would you appreciate from a friend when you are going through a rough patch?

My mom always taught me the best gift to give someone going through a rough time like this is to make them a couple of meals.  The last thing you want to do when you're really stressed out is do housework of any kind, so cooking them a few meals might really help them out.  I always make one hot meal to bring over, and then a few mostly cooked meals.  All they have to do is toss the meals into an oven, sit back and enjoy.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010
