Re: 10-10-10

  • I would say definetly cheesy, but my dads birthday was on 09-09-09 and I thought it was neat.
  • we sort of accidently ended up with 09-09-09 at 9:00 AM.  Definately cheesy, but everyones reaction was "oh jeeze...hey, thats cool".

  • How'd 9 am work out, aMrs?  I can't even imagine.  I'm sort of a morning person, but I'd imagine you had to be up at like 5.

  • We're getting married on National Ding-a-Ling day
  • J. Dude. I didn't realize you changed your date. That's so not good for me. :*(

  • kiki...9:00 AM SUCKED in a HUGE WAY.  I am not a morning person at all and apparently either are the hairdressers and florists here.  It took me until the day before the wedding to sort out hair and flowers.  I was cursing DH (he picked the time) on a daily basis in the weeks leading up to the wedding. On the up-side, we got to have a less expensive lunchoen instead of a full blown evening reception :-)

  • We're getting married on 10/10/09 for a different reason that's equally lame as getting married just because the date is 10/10. So...if there's another reason, go for it. But things will likely book up earlier and be overpriced.

  • It's a bye weekend for our college football team. Half of our family wouldn't attend if there was a home game, and even FI and I would be distracted by checking the score.Football = life, in Nebraska. :)

  • Oh that's right, I've seen you mention that before. Not lame at all, Vogt. Not lame at all.Validation - check.;)

  • Did you forget to hit the sarcasm font on that one Vallyhooha? :)

  • I actually don't think that's a lame reason, but I realized my response reeked of validation. :)

  • cheesy but funI had a friend a few years ago get married on 06-06-06 i kid you not and it was a TUESDAY!we all think shes crazy but she wanted 666 for her wedding date LOL - it takes all kinds ;)
  • Oh, okay. I think it's lame, myself, so I would understand if others did. I still went with it, but acknowledge the supreme lameness :)

  • The FI wants this date because he's a computer nerd and 101010 is binary code. Um, yeah. This makes it infinitely cool and completely acceptable.

  • It is a bit cheesy, but I'm doing it anyway. Not because I think either of us will forget our wedding date, but because I want to get married in October, it's a Sunday (which is actually cheaper), and there are a rash of family birthdays later in the month, including his parents. It works out well and I think it will be cute. Most places I'm looking at are still available on that day, though one is not. A lot of vendors are telling me it's a popular day, though, which I can imagine, since 7/7/07 was a Saturday and apparently a huge scheduling nightmare for many marrying couples.

  • We are getting married 10/10/10 and we love the idea of it. It's not cheezy, it's fun and just to think of the fact that we saved money on save the dates! There was no need to send them out, we told people the date once and they have all remembered it. Lucky us! Also, a lot of vendors are filled up for that day, I'm pretty far ahead of schedule on the planning because I wanted to be sure I got a good florist, photographer, officiant, etc. We actually saved a lot of money on the venue, we are getting married at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio and we cut the price of our wedding in half by getting married on a Sunday. We were also able to reserve the rooms at a cheaper rate.
  • This has to be a record. The last post on this was over 4 months ago.
  • What the Hell dphillips.  Really?
